  1. Past hour
  2. I loved going to the Clemson game last year. I think best for Texas would be to win out, miss the SEC championship game by tie breaker, and host a home game.
  3. After last year’s results, granted it’ll be seeded correctly this year, the BYE was every single team’s downfall. Give me the Home game 100% and build that BIG MO!
  4. I was initially opposed to idea of 24 team playoff bracket but I’m liking it more and more, thinking about first 2 rounds of games played at college campuses. Joel Klatt did a nice overview a couple weeks back, 1-8 get a first round bye and each host 2nd round. 9-16 host 17-24 in first round. Four major conferences get 4 automatic bids. ND automatic if top 20. 6 committee picks based on rankings, meaning SEC depth likely results in at least another 3-4 teams from SEC for a total of 7-8 each year. Quarterfinals stay same in big bowl games on NYE and 3 games on NYD. Semi-finals and NC stay same. The first two years at 12 teams was good but I love the idea of 24 teams with two rounds of games at college campuses. December and early January has become best time of year for college football, What format others like / prefer? https://youtu.be/FcIHsfqD4YI
  5. Getting in will make me happy. But I loved that home playoff game last year
  6. I hate that he's with the Eagles, but it's great to see him playing a big role on one of the best defenses in the NFL.
  7. Taaffe is one of 10 semifinalists for the Burlsworth Trophy. The award is named in honor of former Arkansas All-American offensive lineman Brandon Burlsworth and is presented to "the most outstanding football player who began his career as a walk-on and has shown outstanding performance on the field."
  8. Cleveland and Parker High are in the second round of the 6A playoffs in Alabama.
  9. 100% agree, just get in. Once you’ve done that the mission is to win them all irrespective of where you play.
  10. Trent Maybin is the son of former Major Leaguer Cameron Maybin.
  11. Agree. After the national media wrote off the Longhorns last month (maybe it was deserved with the way our offense struggled), it would make for an incredible November if our Horns pull off the unexpected upset against UGA. Several fun predictions; Arch throws for 345 yards on 22 for 27 - 4 TDs TD catches by Mosley, Wingo, Tre and Livingstone. Simmons / Hill / Burke combine for 4 1/2 sacks. Julani McDonald and Michael Taafe both have an INT. Niblett has a punt return 40 yards to the Georgia 25 yd line setting up our go ahead TD drive in the 4th qtr. Hook em!! 🧡🐂🤘🏼
  12. Today
  13. Do you see any of them pushing to start this year?
  14. I don’t care this year…just get in. Texas would be the only team to boast of being in the CFP every year it’s existed.
  15. Give me a bye this year!!! With how much we have had to deal with injuries and how long this season has felt. Getting that time off is going to be big for a final 3 game push.
  16. We learned last year that momentum heading into Round 2 provides advantages and that sitting out the first round might put you at a disadvantage. All of the teams with byes struggled last year, which makes sense—they were all off for at least a month and were rustier than the teams that played in Round 1.
  17. Personally, I thought the Clemson game at DKR was one of the live experiences I've had in all of my years going to Texas games. Sign me up for more on-campus CFP games.
  18. What a shitshow. I'm glad though that it's happening. Hopefully it pushes Aiden Hall, Martinez, and Anderson our way. Keep doing you LSU! 🤣
  19. With the Kelly fiasco going on and the governor getting involved, that place is a circus. I can't imagine why a parent would want their kid to go there.
  20. Too simplistic a call. Among top tier coaching prospects at solid P4 schools looking to step up to a destination job, they’ll get significant guarantees. For G5 coaches and hot coordinators, they’ll take more favorable deals. So the Kiffins, Cignettis, Lannings, etc, will get the guaranteed deals, or leverage their existing schools for better guarantees. Guys like Fisher and Franklin, who already have sweetheart buyouts, will be less demanding.
  21. Great post. Certainly, think either are possible but hoping one plays out.
  22. That's not technically true. The top 5 conference champs get a guaranteed spot. ACC is so bad this year, their conference champion may be behind the American and JMU. In that case, the ACC would be left out. I don't think anyone ever dreamed of a scenario where a P4 champion could be behind two G5 champs, but here we are.
