  13. As Sark said earlier today, UTEP’s Scotty Walden said it’s never been more important for high school football coaches to have the best interest of football prospects in mind and to make sure they’ve got a voice.

  15. Sark said at some point there will be a program that goes over the cap, and he doesn’t want it to be Texas. That’s why Brandon Harris is so important to how the Texas program operates.
  16. Sark’s question is about the function of the general manager in college football. Operating within and managing the cap is the biggest role of the GM, Sark said. You’ve got to divide the cap between recruiting, taking care of the current roster and player retention. Sark said it’s a “thankless job,” but he and Brandon Harris are on the same page and he likes that he’s got someone he trusts in that role so that he can focus on coaching.
