Are the tides turning for Texas?

no chance. two of ou vandy or bama mia had to lose -
They wouldn't, which is why it would be stupid to to say that either of those things "breatehd life" into Texas' playoff chances with the committee.

We're out, but I love what Sark is doing right now. None of the other teams that are going to be outside looking in like we are are making as much noise. The only thing to do at this point is to burn it, and Sark is walking in to any house he can find with matches and a can of gas. -
A chance remains. We need Blake Baker to accept the Tulane job. https://www.louisianasports.net/2025/12/02/five-star-dt-richard-anderson-likely-delays-lsu-signing/top-stories/ 👀👀👀👀👀

I play both sides of this. 1A- Don’t lose to Florida 1Aa- If we played Tarleton in Week 1 AND still lose to Florida, we’re #8 or something and golden. -

If Texas doesn't get in then I wonder if they'll start changing up their non con games as well. I wonder if any of the moderators have heard if Texas would look into changing those games based on the outcome of the playoff committee. -
He has no power to ban you on X. That's an interesting (dumb/vulgar) post to boast about on a message board. Do better.

If somehow we are ahead of Miami tonight at 12, the dream stays alive. If we are 12 going into conf champ week, byu lose and Bama loses by 14 or more points then Texas could replace Bama and the SEC is still happy. Sec is worried that a Bama loss could put Miami in and cut the SEC to 4 teams in. -
You mentioned Sark's politicking. You mentioned Bama's switching its future non-con scheduled. You brought no evidence about how the committee is feeling about either of these things.

Hate to correct you. Pavia is probably going to "Chad Powers" it and get another 6 years there.

Schedule changes already happening

meh its not so much saying don't play these games, its more like wait until the playoffs to play these games since they will happen there regardless.. otherwise you miss out on so much money/recruit power/prestige by missing the playoffs... Though I still think the solution is a 16 team playoff. since every year there seems to be 2ish teams that are deserving and left out and a clear line around 14-15 with a drop off. -

I like Wingo, I just think he’s a luxury guy moreso than a reliable one. Let’s not forget, Worthy went bananas as soon as he stepped on campus with his opportunity. Wingo was force fed this season and mostly wilted under the expectations. If we can bring in an NFL talented guy or two and give them the opportunity to boost their draft stock like we did with Golden, Bond, and Mitchell, that would be ideal. -

The one thing that I can see getting us in is the threat of pulling the big non conference games off of the schedule in the future and the cascade that could cause other teams to do the same -
Notre Dame finessed the system this year harder than any system has ever been finessed. Here is their path to their current AP poll ranking. L to ranked TAMU: -16 to #24 *First team in 37 years to remain in the poll at 0-2. W vs Purdue: +2 to #22 W vs Arkansas: +1 to #21 W vs BSU: +5 to #16 W vs NCSU: +3 to #13 W vs #20 USC: +1 to #12 Bye: +0 to #12 W vs BC: +2 to #10 * After starting 0-2 then getting five wins over bad to mediocre teams and one 10 point win to a ranked but overrated USC, Notre Dame made it back from #24 to essentially back in the CFP field. This is insane. They were 1-2 vs ranked teams at this point, yet back in the CFP field. *Coasted the rest of the season (one spot up for added security) W vs Navy: +1 to #9 W vs #22 Pitt: +0 to #9 W vs Syr: +0 to #9 W vs Stan: +0 to #9 If Notre Dame would have fallen completely out of the AP poll after starting 0-2 like everyone in the last 36 years, they wouldn’t have moved back up into CFP field by beating the joke of schedule they had after their first two games.

I think tonight is going to surprise people. Too many people are talking about this, and a lot of money is at stake if all these teams start scheduling cupcakes at the beginning of the year. -

As of yesterday, Texas looked to have little to no chance getting into the CFP. However, this morning with Sark's politicking and with Bama switching up their non-conference schedule, it looks like the committee might breathe life into Texas. Thoughts?
