The guys at the top of the draft class don’t matter all that much unless he would otherwise be projected as a 1st or 2nd round prospect. His ceiling even with a monster season is probably mid day 2 so late 2nd to early 3rd. It’s not like he is going to shoot that much further up the draft board if he declares for this year. He’d be way behind Makai Lemon, Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, Chris Bell, Jakobi Lane and KC Concepcion. Don’t get me wrong, I love Deandre Moore’s skillset and think he has a chance to be a more productive pro than college player. But the underlying metrics suggest even with a strong combine that he will be viewed as an NFL team’s WR3-4 as a median, most likely projection.

There are going to be so many legal hurdles to clear with this. They are a public entity, interested to see if the BOR and the State legislature do.

The university basically forms a company (Utah Brands and Entertainment) with the PE firm and that company's board has the Utah AD as head. Utah does not have the alumni/donor funds that some other big schools have so they are leaning on essentially PE management of revenue rights to increase generation of said funds. $500 million is a lot of estimated funds. That PE firm is all sports exec people, so they know how the game works. Not your run of the mill PE firm. Utah is a state school so I'm curious if the final version makes it past the BOR or runs into state legislature roadblocks. I see that coaching staffs and revenue sharing distribution(s) remain under university control so the PE can't "fire" them or allocate RS payouts but that doesn't mean they can't influence decisions heavily. Curious how this works out if it comes to fruition.
