  2. In the summer of 1973 I took the first of two required American History courses. Like many requirements at UT, the class was large. It was held in the auditorium of the Art Building across the street to the North from Memorial Stadium. The professor was Dr Norman Brown and one of my classmates was Ben Crenshaw. At the time, Crenshaw was the better known of two All American golfers for the UT Men's Golf Team, with Tom Kite being the other team member. Crenshaw and Kite have been followed by a long line of accomplished championship players in college and on the PGA Tour. Scottie Scheffler is the latest and currently the most famous of the World #1 ranked professionals to have come through the Forty Acres and played for the University. In September, Scottie will represent the USA in the Ryder Cup competition. Best wishes to Scottie in the final round of the Open Championship on Sunday and the Ryder Cup this September in New York. Hook 'Em Horns!
  3. Scottie is 9-0 in his last 9 tournaments with the 54-hole lead.
  4. Today
  5. He made 7 to 10 foot putts look routine. What an amazing display of effortless golf.
  6. So he played with Bobby Layne. Thank you, Jeff!
  7. Eating at Hutt’s Hamburgers with Caleb’s dad/family remains one of my favorite personal memories.
  8. For those unaware, many believe this hit by Peavy led to the eventual downfall of Marcus Dupree.
  9. Anthony Curl was one of the more under-rated LBs in Texas history.
  10. Yes, along with Jonathan Vargas, Jordan Spieth, and Scheffler, four Longhorns made the cut.
  11. This isn’t the flex he thinks it is but oh well.
  12. Amazingly, I just saw Scottie shoot the most boring 4-under round I've ever seen. I can't imagine being that good that you can make a 4-under round look ho-hum. Incredible!
  13. Just saw that Justin Leonard made the cut and is at even par. I don't follow golf all that closely but I haven't heard his name in a long time.
  14. Off topic but did you see this crazy shot by Rory?
  15. Really? Answer: Because you guys (and me) would murder them for crappy recruiting. Let's be clear here. I am firmly in the "I want it all" bucket! Alas, things don't work that way.
  16. Just needs to finish Sunday and win the US Open to be the 7th (ish) player to win all 4.

  19. The man is a "MACHINE"!!!! I have watched every round so far and the guy is completely unflappable. Such a great representative of The University of Texas.
  20. Longhorn grad Scottie Scheffler, the world’s no. 1 golfer, is taking dead aim at his first British Open Championship. He goes into tomorrow’s fourth and final round with a four-shot lead. https://www.theopen.com
  21. I don't have a favorite, all I know is football needs to get here and get here soon. I'm so starved for competition, I'm watching women's rugby.
  22. Relationship or transaction? A commitment is like winning Love Island and “signing” a pre-nup! I will increase your annual allowance as long as you still look good and put out, other wise you can portal back to the island if you think you can do better. There is always another pretty face that can take your place.
  23. Exactly what I was thinking too. Better have a backup plan and I’m sure they do.
