Sark Update/Sexton releases statement
Timberman replied to Connor Vaughn's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I don’t see anything definitive about Sexton’s statement. He said only that Sark is focused on coaching the longhorns. He didn’t say Sark was interested in staying at Texas. -

i cant believe an NFL team would be interested. it’s not like he is developing qbs here or lighting up the scoreboards offensively -
Right. Sure.

That’s like asking a politician to tell the truth🤣 -
I know Gerry. I was joking around. Dianna Russini should not share this unless there is a credited source. If someone in Sark’s circle is sharing this… they need to own it.

Sark Update/Sexton releases statement
Glass Joe replied to Connor Vaughn's topic in On Texas Football Forum
It’s worth noting the precise words of the reporters tweet (article) - she was told THAT representatives of Sark reached out to NFL teams. The reporter was not told this BY representatives of Sark. This implies the info came for NFL exec circles, NOT directly from the representatives of Sark. If her words are accurate, the leak wasn’t from Sexton or other college sources, instead the leak came from the NFL gossip circle sources. So all the angst toward Sark, Sexton, et al regarding the timing of the leak is likely misplaced (hence, putting out a press release denial within hours). Obviously, this doesn’t change the substance or veracity of the report, it just means the source of the leak wasn’t Sexton nor a Sark-approved leak. I mention this because IF this leak was from a Sark-approved source, the timing would have me furious as a Texas fan, booster, or administrator. Furious enough to pack Sark’s bags for him. -

Florida has 3 national championships in the last 29 years, and the larger point is Florida’s wealth of resources relative to Ole Miss’ dearth of resources. That Texas hasn’t done much with all our resources over the past 55 years really isn’t relevant to a discussion of Kiffin choosing Florida over Ole Miss. And Kiffin all but clinched a Playoff spot with his win over OU today (look at Ole Miss’ remaining schedule…11-1 is very likely), so you can check that box on Kiffin’s resume. And a 7-1 SEC record (very likely) will put Ole Miss in their first ever SEC Championship game. Another box checked.

How has Sark been "more checked out" and "less committed" this year? Because we aren't playing well? That's a bunch of BS. I don't know how you can be "checked out" as a college coach working 18 hour days, traveling across the country to recruit on bye weeks, etc. I don't know the extent of the truth to the rumor but it's very evident people are getting too wound up about what was initially posted at the bottom of a long article in the Athletic.

Maybe you have been out of pocket all day. The report came from Dianna Russini ... NFL inside reporter for The Athletic OTF did not put the story out, just so you know. -
This could be the reason for the change. We will be in great hands next season with Sark, Freeman or Kiffin. Not worried at all!

Is it too early to start speculation with things like why did Sark miss a few weeks after the playoff fame in January and had the "flu" for junior day?
-
I don't think you would put out a story of this magnitude saying "you heard"..you would put out there that you have several sources or something of that nature.
