  1. Past hour
  2. At the risk of derailing this thread, I have a hypothetical scenario: If number 1 opened up on your team and you have a returning starting CB, the top player in the portal (WR) coming in, and a Freshman 5* projected starting QB and they all want #1. As a head coach who do you give it to and why?
  3. One goal for the season is to cut strikeouts down by 100, given the same number of games from 2025
  4. Schloss says there has been a lot of emphasis on cutting down on strikeouts at the plate.
  5. Schloss says the Texas head coaching contingency is very unique and special. Gives Sark a lot of credit for the handling of Jonah Williams as well.
  6. Cozart will likely be a starting pitcher says Schloss … probably A midweek piece. Schloss says there is a fine balance between getting the young arms acclimated to live action vs. making sure he is putting the best arms in the right situations if games get tight.
  7. Schloss says he has an idea of his top 3-4 lineup. Mentioned Rodriguez, Robbins, Tinney and then Mendoza as well
  8. Jonah Williams has been getting time in right field which is a new position for him. Schloss also says the outfield at the Disch is the hardest he’s coached at. Cites the wind, the RF corner not to mention the lack of a difference between turf and warning track
  9. “I like the depth of our pitching staff, but we have to go play the games,”
  10. Oh so now we’re kink shaming? Thought this was a safe space
  11. Riojas will begin the year as a starting pitcher per Schloss.
  12. Cj, not sure if I can look at you the same after hating on Riri
  13. Thomas Burns says he throws a splitter instead of a changeup now
  14. Burns with some praise for Haiden Leffew
  15. Burns says being a “hired hitman” is all about knowing your role in the pen. When it’s time to get a kill, get a kill. When it’s time to sit down, sit down.
  16. Thomas Burns was asked if he was the closer: ”we are all just a bunch of savage out getters.”
  17. A look at the new Texas batter’s eye, which includes a cut for the TV cameras — previously the cameras were on a stand off to the left side of the batter’s eye.
  18. Riojas says he didn’t believe he was mature enough to test the MLB Draft waters after last year. Says he wanted to improve his mentality and mental toughness with another year under Max Weiner.
  19. Riojas says he felt like it was rock bottom towards the end of last year. But calls it a great learning opportunity and that he’s excited to get back out on the mound this year
  20. Max Weiner has a saying with the Texas pitching staff called being “hired hitmen” Riojas said the staff has bought into that mentality.
