  3. Hippy Tuesday
  4. @Joe Zura what happened
  5. Pete Nakos Speaking with sources, Texas is in the mix for multiple big-time college baseball free agents. The Longhorns are in the mix for Virginia transfers Eric Becker (infielder) and Henry Ford(infielder/outfielder). Becker officially entered the portal on Tuesday with a do-not-contact tag, and batted .368 with 74 hits in 201 at-bats in 2025. He hit nine home runs and drove in 52 RBIs, as well. Seton Hall transfer outfielder Aiden Robbins started 46 games this spring, finishing with a .438 batting average to go with 33 RBIs and a .550 on-base percentage. He has emerged as a top portal target for Texas, sources have said. Maryland starting shortstop Chris Hacopian totaled 29 home runs and 103 RBIs in his two seasons at Maryland. He was an All-Big Ten second-team honoree both years. The sophomore is lining up a visit to Austin, per a source. The rising junior has been projected as high as a potential top-10 pick in the 2026 MLB draft.
  6. Casey is absolutely worthy. Easy in imo.

  8. Blake y’all are doing an awesome job. Appreciate it.
  9. You wouldn't have to... just watch him walk by
  10. Wish him well but he was not a top of the line pitcher that can compete for national championships. I guy that bleeds burnt orange though and I’ll be rooting for him… unless he goes to ou.
  11. That's better than signing in a hot tub.
  12. This was likely the "fan favorite" portal candidate that Blake hinted at weeks ago.
  13. Thanks for the link. Key quotes (to me) from the article - "The going rate for a star pitcher in the portal was believed to be in the $100,000-$150,000 range. ... (the) Matador Club announced it had signed Canady to an NIL agreement ... The contract is for one year and $1,050,024 ... The $24 is for Canady’s jersey number. The $50,000 is for living expenses. And the $1 million is for Canady." Now THAT'S the way a less than successful program can use NIL to full effect to lure stars, big bucks sure, but personalized like $24 for the jersey number. No to and fro, no 'get back to me with a counter offer', no 'what would it take?' foreplay. Just blow them away by going all in from the jump. I admire their chutzpah, those Tech oilmen aren't fooling around.
  14. Any Texas fan making “commentary” about another school’s player’s NIL package would be better served looking in the Texas Football NIL mirror. This is the game, play and play to win. Texas donors choose a DT or part of a QB over the best softball pitcher in the country. Now she’s playing us for a NC. We just need to bring it and light the tower! Hook ‘em
  15. For Directors Cup, Title IX, softball fans etc - maybe. If Tech doesn't win, or, if the next $1M player is a clubhouse problem, that will be a fun conversation. And I think a player like Cat is worthy of an all sports Mt Rushmore conversation (with more than 5 heads) As for a pure economic value, or fan eyeball perspective, the $1M might help softball fundraising, but probably still has a much bigger multiplier in other sports, even outside of the QB. I'd love to see someone pencil that out.
  16. When are we going to start to see portal visits?
  17. If you don't agree, I posted this video on what Texas faced with Pickens. If you think it's easy I got news for you🤣 https://youtu.be/jCSIsROGwLQ?feature=shared
  18. I’ve had the same thought and agree.
