  1. Past hour
  2. Why would he? He’s let go of one coach that he's hired. He will get another year to put an improved group on the field, Sark hasn’t been one to push guys out if their groups are underperforming. He will get another year to figure it out IMO.
  3. He’s put a lot of guys in the NFL. Don’t think a poor O line coach/recruiter/developer could coach under Saban. Heck, I really have no idea what might happen.
  4. Because it doesn’t matter who the OL coach is.
  5. You really think Sark will get rid of Flood?
  6. I get that but Vandy was ranked #9 last week by virtue of beating #11 South Carolina, #10 LSU and #15 Mizzou. Then we beat them and went from #20 to #11. OU jumped into the top 5 after beating #15 Michigan and #22 Auburn. Do you not see how others could make the same argument about many teams in the SEC?
  7. Full poll: https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll
  8. Texas up to 10 in the AP Poll, finally ranked above OU
  9. Following OL recruiting right now seems pointless until we know who they OL coach is gonna be.
  10. They say these big out of conference games don’t hurt you but the reality is if we played Lafayette instead of Ohio State on the road we would be sitting pretty.
  11. I disagree - I think projections are forecasting 9-3, just my opinion.
  12. Eh, the only one I'd say was significant improvement was Jones. Majors and Conner, in my opinion, were the same as they were when they were younger.
  13. I even forgot about OU waxing Michigan, who will likely finish 4th place in the Big10
  14. You’re really trying to make a false equivalency. The upper half of the Big12 has played literally zero teams that are currently ranked in the CFP Top 25. Mississippi State has one SEC win and beat the team that beat Tech (ASU). Fairly confident the SEC is undefeated by the Big12 this season. By the end of the season, teams from the SEC will have played Ohio State, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. That’s likely the two P4 winners plus the top non P4 team. The record will likely be 2-1, with a 7 pt loss to the #1 team. The SEC’s quality is demonstrably not self referential like you are suggesting
  15. Which is why unfortunately i see 9-3 and no playoffs this year.
  16. I thought Hayden Conner, Jake Majors, Christian Jones among others all improved significantly under Flood. They lost four pros on the o line from last year who had a lot of continuity together. No doubt this year has been rough but I don't think it's been a development issue until this year. I think Goosby has developed well but the Brooks experiment at Guard was a mistake.
  17. Indiana will be exposed in the playoffs. How do you need a game winning drive to beat a penn state team that’s got everything going on they do?
  18. Just to confirm the Clemson OL that had 2016: Mitch Hyatt(3x 1st team All-ACC, consensus AA(2018), and 2x Jacob's blocking winner) started 2016/2018 title Taylor Hearn(3rd team All conference) Jay Guillermo(2x All ACC, including 1st team selection in 2016) Tyrone Crowder(2x All ACC, including 1st team selection in 2016) Sean Pollard(started as true freshmen in national championship, arguably the weakest OL of the starters in the NC game) 2018: Mitch Hyatt - See above John Simpson - 2 time al ACC(3rd team 2018, 1st team 2019, consensus All American in 2019) Justin Falcinelli(honorable mention all American 2017, 1st team all ACC 2017, 2nd team all ACC 2018) Gage Cervenka(ended up 2nd team all conference in 2019) Tremayne Anchrum -(2x all conference, 2nd team 2018, 1st team 2019)
  19. I agree with this. Look at how hard Texas went in the portal to rebuild their interior DL after the departure of Bo Davis. That combined with improved high school IDL recruiting by Kenny Baker, and better NIL allocation to that position group, has allowed them the luxury of only needing one interior DL in the portal heading into the 2026 season. Depending on how the 2026 high school IDL class finishes, they may not have to take any portal IDL for the 2027 season on, as long as the guys they signed out of high school develop into really good players. I think some fans want to see a similar portal haul for the OL and hopefully not have to bring in multiple portal OL after 2026.
  20. Seeing the lack of Flood’s development tells we need to
  21. Folks look at Texas and say they've only beaten OU (whose only beaten Tennessee whose beaten nobody) and Vandy whose only ranked as highly as they are because they beat overrated teams like a top 15 ranked South Carolina, top 20 Mizzou and a top 10/15 LSU. The argument is SEC teams get ranked highly just because they're SEC and then when they lose the team that beats them gets the huge bump without considering the original ranked team might be highly overrated as South Carolina, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and frankly we were as well.
  22. Today
  23. 1. Don’t need to? Our OL is awful. It’s not getting better next year when Campbell and Hutson are gone with what is on campus. 2. No one is asking that Texas build an OL long term via the portal every year. We are in a championship window and to treat every other position on the team as such outside of OL is mis-management of the roster. QB, OL, and DL are the three most important positions on the field. 3. If underclassmen who aren’t good enough to beat out guys like Hutson, Robertson, Stroh, Neto, or a true freshman in Brooks get mad cause we want to bring in someone to win a championship for a year while they get to develop another year…..well bye then. They won’t let a guy like Brooks leave but he can’t be handed a job next year he hasn’t earned either.
  24. ACC keeps waltzing itself right into a one team invitation at this point, though.
  25. While the o line has struggled, their previous investments/assessments, player development and player retention will probably be a factor in portal shopping. Is there a guaranteed player that steps in and starts right away? If so I think we could see some movement. Internally I think they have high hopes for Cruz, Baker, and Brooks among others. We saw Oregon bring in RB Makhi Hughes for a pretty penny who has opted to red shirt due to lack of playing time. Sometimes the guys in the room just need a little time and experience to develop. Hopefully that's the case with this Texas OL. I'm not as low on Flood as most people I guess.
