Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is set to meet with the media following Texas' 52–0 victory over Colorado State in the season opener.

Notes and quotes in the comments down below.

I imagine this will be one of the lighter press conferences we see all year.

Sarkisian says he is thrilled in the effort of his team to sustain the shutout. Points at a player diving on the muffed punt on their own five and a diving INT by a true freshman in the end zone to hold onto the shutout.

"Bigger credit to the players for executing" Sarkisian says he was proud of the game plan in the red zone. Says his players did not get any hectic.

Texas went 7-7 on red zone trips – all for TD.

Sarkisian says Jahdae Barron was prepared to play three different positions - CB, STAR, S.

Sarkisian says Barron gives Texas more physically at the corner spot which frees up Manny Muhammad on the opposite side of the ball.

DeAndre Moore "was probably the most spirited player out there" without receiving a catch says Steve Sarkisian. Points to how great of an understudy he was under Jordan Whittington last year.

Sark says Ewers' INT was due to a combo look CSU gave them. Says Ewers was trying to throw the football away on that play specifically.

"The ball was really going to the right people and on time... The command of the offense on the field was really good."

Sark says there will always be growing pains after week one, even after a 52–0 win. Says it was a great start, "but we know where we are headed and what we want to achieve."

Its on the staff across the board to find ways to improve in all three phases, says the staff must be intentional on what must improve.

Just now, CJ Vogel said:

"I think we are a fast football team. One thing I noticed today was our team football speed."

"Our playmakers with the ball in their hand can gain ground."

Sark added that when CSU had a few runs leak out, there were a lot of white hats continually running to the ball.

Sarkisian says he laughed a bit after the 1st TD from Tre Wisner on power between the tackles after being asked about their ability to do so effectively last Monday.

"We have some really good tackles."

Sark says Jaydon Blue "caught a cramp" in the 3Q.

Sarkisian on Quinn Ewers' no-look pass and the flick from Arch Manning. "We have a high-level quarterback room... I don't want those guys to be robots."

Sark says he coached Arch Manning harder than anyhting on his 4th down incompletion because it was a misread.

Sarkisian did say he would like his rush defense to play a little bit better.

Runs got "leaky" for 7-8 yards at times despite the physicality up front and some of those knockback tackles that were evident with the LBs and secondary.

This is the biggest takeaway for me from the game. 7-7
