Born Burnt Orange Posted January 18 Posted January 18 It looks like with the NCAA ruling on the player transferring from Wisconsin to Miami that the transfer portal is not needed if a playe/studentr can unroll and enroll in a new university at any time. Quote
thatdude2 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 This actually makes sense because they are still college students Quote
coltonmartinez Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Oh wow. So he’d be a walk on at the new school? Quote
Treston Marshall Posted January 18 Posted January 18 No, the transfer portal is not blown up. Xavier Lucas filed the paper work to enter to portal during the open window. Wisconsin refused to enter his name into the portal. Wisconsin believed that because Xavier signed a 2 year "contract" with the school for revenue sharing, Xavier was contractually obligated to stay at Wisconsin. The NCAA ruled for Xavier. All this ruling does is prevent schools from keeping students at the school even if the student signs a "contract" for multiple years. This ruling will not impact most players or fundamentally change our understanding of the transfer portal. https://www.outkick.com/sports/xavier-lucas-transfer-portal-wisconsin-miami-college-football 1 Quote
