It appears to me that to get to the championship game this year both teams will have played 15 games to get there. This makes the final the 16 game for the last two standing. Proof: After a twelve-game season a team will go to the first-round playoff game on Dec 21 or 22. Game 13. A win advances a team to the quarter-final game on Dec 31 or Jan 1. Game 14. A win in the quarter-finals advances a team to the semi-finals on Jan 9 or 10. Game 15. Championship game is on Jan 20 and is the 16th game! We are focused now on the Cedric Baxter injury. Be prepared to see a different looking roster by season's end. With a 33% longer season expect to see more injuries and new faces stepping up. It seems like this would also impact recruiting. Obviously claiming a championship is a draw to any player, but a season that long would introduce new faces would also impact recruiting. Recruiting coaches could rightfully claim that a good player could find playing time in their first year. -

We all know that Sark does not like for his quarterbacks to run. If Sark sees his QB in a jam and needs to skedaddle, Sark might be inclined to yell "RUN" like the rest of us. It occurred to me that Sark's successful system at USC was beaten by Vince Young's sensational running. Is this a flaw in Sark's system? Fourth and five, 26 seconds left on the clock, Vince Young ruins Sark's day.

I was just wondering if SMU could return to its glory days before it was garroted by the NCAA. With NIL now in place, those rich old guys are still there unless they have died off generationally during SMU's "death." Could SMU do it again?
