  1. Trev Alberts is the anti-CDC. Coaches leave his low trust culture as fast as they can find a better spot or in Buzz Williams case, any alternative was better than staying at A&M. Hard to understand the original decision by Alberts in hiring an unproven Michael Early but even harder to understand the decision to retain after he went from #1 in the country with highest NIL of any baseball team in the ncaa to completely left out of the 64-team regionals. https://www.kbtx.com/2025/05/30/texas-am-retain-head-baseball-coach-michael-earley/?outputType=amp
  2. Excellent in depth analysis of Top 5 defensive lines (actually top 6) going into the season. Texas ranked #2 primarily due to our elite edge room starting with Colin Simmons but also Trey Moore and Ethan Burke. He mentions Anthony Hill as the other real threat, all of whom will make the DT job a bit easier. With all the solid DT transfers (failed to recognize Watson), he sees Texas as one of the best defensive lines in the nation and clear #2 in the SEC. Bama, LSU, Florida and Georgia all made the list behind Texas. OU ranked as the dominant and clear #1 best defensive lines in the SEC. https://youtu.be/WuUDw-fZiW8
  3. 🤣😎😳🤣😎😳🧡🤘🏼🐂
  4. Our defensive line in 2026 is shaping up to be really special (and scary for opposing offenses) with Colin Simmons, Maraad Watson, Colton Vasek and Alex January as juniors and Lance Jackson, Justus Terry, Myron Charles and Josiah Sharma in their second year with the program. Holy $&?@. Then it’s a bonus if either Lavon Johnson or Hero Kanu can elevate as a rotational DT going into their last year. Exciting times for the DL on the 40 acres!!! Hook em!! 🧡🤘🏼🐂
  5. With the way Tre Wisner stepped up last season for nearly 1400 combined yards combined with TW putting on additional healthy weight this offseason, I’m interested to see how Wisner steps up as RB1 going into the season. Sounds like Baxter may not be at full strength till mid-season.
  6. https://apple.news/AsdEmwjjxRdiZSRdRKhJ_vg 6 Longhorns on their pre-season All American Team(s). Fun seeing the pre-season love for Taaffe, Endries and Malik. No. Surprise to see Arch, Simmons and Hill. By end of the year, thinking Trevor Goosby and Ryan Wingo are included on many of these All American lists well. Who else is gonna rise to that level this season?
  7. Gotta love Sark… 🤘🏼🐂🧡🤣 https://apple.news/AMxz6Nx9pSeqQbDXf2DWCXw
  8. Yep. Questionable coaching decision for Tennessee with 2 outs in bottom of the 7th, why pitch to Parker? OU’s best hitter by far and she had scored the only run for the Sooners with a HR in the first inning. That seemed like an obvious situation to walk Parker, load the bases, they were up by 2 runs. Makes me sick to see OU win on a 3-runs off homer in bottom of the 7th with 2 outs/. Saturday should be a great matchup! Mike White needs to break the Sooner curse. Hook em! 🧡🐂🤘🏼
  9. Kavan and the Longhorn defense played really strong today with the 2-hit shutout combined with 3 solo HRs, two by Mitchell. That was a methodical and disciplined performance overall. Given the the four .400 hitters in the middle of our lineup, it will be good to see our bats come alive and more run production in the next game. We had bases loaded and only one out but hit into a double play late in the game. That won’t happen next time/. Would love to see Tennessee upset OU this afternoon. 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  10. Let’s go Horns!! 3 more outs then take tomorrow off!! 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  11. Hate to see inning end on double play with bases loaded but great work getting 2 runs off 2 solo HRs
  12. Mitchell en fuego!!! 🔥. 2 solo home runs!!
  13. Love that Mitchell crushed that HR on a 2-2 count and put it way into the stands!!
  14. Wow, that’s some heavy storms for sure. 😳. Disch Falk in need of serious repairs in 36 hrs.
  15. Everyone has an opinion for sure. I enjoy listening to Joel Klatt, Josh Patt and Finebaum is always good for a laugh. I frequently agree with Josh Pate (or at least appreciate the thoughtfulness of his takes), but he has a bizarre love fest for the old BCS days when computer formulas picked the top 2 and everyone else played in secondary bowls. One thing I feel strongly about is college football has never been more fun throughout the fall and especially in December/ January. Prior to 2025, when was the last NewYears Day when the entire day was filled with Tier-1 meaningful ‘edge of your seat’ games? This year was awesome!!! Win or go home. NewYears Day is back to being one of the best days in college football thanks to the new CFP playoff.
  16. I looked at the last 3 season end of year CFP Rankings and in all 3 seasons, the SEC comes out with 6, 7 and 4 Teams. Big 12 only got 1 team in 2 of the 3 years. They had the anomaly in 2022 with TCU's one-hit wonder. Big 10 had 4, 5 and 5 Teams. ACC had 3, 1 and 2 Teams. Bottom line, why give the ACC and Big 12 two guaranteed spots in the playoff each year when history shows they aren't consistently strong enough? IMO, the 5-11 format with 4 conference champions plus G5 guaranteed a spot in the playoffs (not guaranteed a bye) and committee rankings finalize the remaining 11 teams with seeding dictating the 2 teams that get a bye. If they go with that 16 team format, then the 2 play-in games occur the second weekend of December, bringing the total teams to 14 starting the weekend of Dec 20th. Top 2 teams get a bye (likely the Big 10 and SEC Conf Champs) till Jan 1. At that point, it's top 8 teams in 4 bowl games similar to last year. I hear all the talk about playing those Jan 1 games at university stadiums but that seems unlikely given bowl financial strength. I'm good with this and it feels like the SEC / Texas likely wins in this model. If they go with this 5-11 model, it sounds like 8 SEC game schecule is most likely to avoid canibalizing each other, given how strong SEC is from top to bottom. As long as we can keep RRR and A&M game in 8-game SEC format, this seems like a good compromise. No need to protect Arkansas game as an annual tradition. Curious if others have a strong opinion re: number of teams in CFP, number of guaranteed spots versus at large spots, # of games played in SEC, etc. Fun stuff being debated this week. By comparison, look at basketball and baseball for other examples where SEC has dominated, using rankings and seedings to dictate the bracket. No need for more AQs to SEC and Big 10 IMO. Hook em!! 🧡🤘🏼🐂 https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/45350954/greg-sankey-talks-sec-coaches-16-team-playoff-model-notes-problematic-timing
  17. gitty up... excited to see how this year's class comes together. Feels like we have more momentum going into June this year than how it felt last year, which is crazy, considering we ended at consensus #1 class with strong finish.
