    I've been just checked out enough to have not known about Tony Bennett. 55 years old, huh... Too bad for Russell Springmann, best wishes to him. Very happy for Jai, surprised he wasn't higher on our rumor list. Neptune: next worst thing to interim is anointed? Next - hopefully RT gets a gracious send off, no ill will, Elite 8 and all... I hope we are all wowed at the outcome and please please please let it include an offense that doesn't nap periodically during games.

    Personally I'd like to see less disparaging comments about RT, making him a dead man walking. He knows UT expectations, he's said so. CDC will evaluate the product on the court, without fan complaints at near the same levels as parking problems and bathroom lines. If there is an upgrade to be made, it will be done, at the earliest time feasible. Meanwhile we should enjoy this team which may end up no worse off than those coached by Self, Calipari, Few, etc if the metric is second weekend. Or Barnes, Beard and Shaka for that matter. Or Buzz and Porter. March Madness is an exciting exercise in futility. In 36 seasons games, Kelvin Sampson has more NCAA violations than elite 8 appearances (3). UH has as many championships as Texas. Good luck RT and team!

    I hope he becomes a franchise QB, wins a super bowl, and earns a gold jacket. However, if he ends up carrying a clipboard (no shame in that), there are so many better options than the Jones fun house. Even cities with lousy winter weather that have great fans, a plus owner/culture, and a title shot could be appealing for a decade.

    One sided rivalries are tiresome. I harbored no ill will will towards Tech until their Beard / Texit irate 8 antics. May the 4 corners schools keep them in their place in the B12. This game means no more or less than the non con matches vs UW, OkSt, Louisville, etc. Maybe even less than Texas State at this point!

    My initial reaction: how groundbreaking would it be to NOT have stars?! But I know most want it. The only question then is... does the order of the namrs matter? I.e. it's OTF's projection of Sark's big board? That would be better than ranking by stars...

    Very bearish take but even if he only goes 2 years and we bag a natty, who's going to complain? (That's rhetorical!) If he's feeling it for 4 years, that's a fair tenure for any assistant, and with some luck, we're contending for multiple titles. Your floor of a demotion in a year is highly unlikely.

    Maybe Banks will do more recruiting with McEndoo on for TE? What we also need from the new RB coach+Flood/Banks/McEndoo is to convert short yardage and not put the ball on the turf, just sayin'.

    While the goal should remain Omaha, this is great for framing the season challenge. Almost an entire league thinking their team are the Joneses! Can't wait to see who from 8-16 rises up, and if the Aggs and Dawgs can live up to their expectations.
