What is the worst job in P4 Football?
Longhorngreg replied to Chinadoll10's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Currently the worst job for a coach is UCLA. UCLA has no money as they currently pay $10 million a year as a penalty to the California system for joining the B10 Their NIL is among the worst in Power 4 Their fanbase has better things to do in LA then go to a football game - Today

Yes, sorry for the confusion. I was trying to make the point that Mack got better through his tenure against our rivals. 1999: 1-3, beat OU, lost to A&M, lost to Arkansas 2003: 1-3, lost to Arkansas, lost to OU, beat A&M 2004: 2-1, beat Arkansas lost to OU, beat A&M 2008: 3-0, beat Arkansas, beat OU, beat A&M

By exhausting I mean frustrating tbh, all year you follow the recruitment of a guy, they commit and you're happy they chose your school and then at smallest sign of friction they go elsewhere or threaten to go elsewhere -

Gotta be honest I'm all for the players getting paid but all this roller coaster every year about whether kids are gonna stay or not because of NIL deals and recruits decommitting is pretty "exhausting" as a fan... Can't imagine as a HC. Hope Terry doesn't transfer, always liked him. -

And right on schedule the overreaction’s in this thread are aplenty. Best of luck to him if he prefers to chase more money to win a couple games a year and not be developed. -

Our recruiting class is cooling off. We got some roster filler 3 stars but that's about it lately -

We have only accomplished this 27 times in our history, including last year. Sark & Co. have an opportunity to complete this task again. Beating our three historic rivals is relatively unique in our storied history. Darrell Royal accomplished this 8 times, Dana Bible 7 times, Fred Akers twice, and Mack Brown once. This one today is about pride, history, and the state of Texas. ———— 1903: HC Ralph Hutchison (5-1-2) 1906: HC H. R. Schenker (9-1) 1907: HC W. E. If he came here solely because of NIL, which has been reported, not terribly surprising he would leave for the same reason.

This stuff is what makes college football fun. Reminds me of when in high school, when our school played against the rival last week of the season, there were so many pranks, the various clubs from each school would play each other in non-official football (band vs band, choir vs choir, German club, etc. I was a "band nerd" and my senior year both band directors bitched out their respective bands because of all the injuries from people hitting each other so hard that bones were broken. In our side, our 1st few chairs (aka the best people for their instruments) were all injured and could no longer participate in UIL marching competition because there were broken arms, broken legs, etc. Good times.
