Hoops: College coaching carousel 2025
harveycmd replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
It's clear that as long as Trev is calling the shots in Aggieland, it's not really a place to stay unless you're the football coach. Even that's not great compared to blue blood football programs, just better than the support for other sports. Beard wants a job at a top ten or historical program. He'll probably need to take an Ole Miss or an A&M to a final four to make that happen. -

all top seeds in final 4 -
This take is a bit dire. Beard was given all the resources to be elite...and I have all the confidence in the world that Miller will also. Our long term interim coach didn't get the same respect, nor should he have. His record was sub-par in ALL stops prior for a program with UT type status and money.

Setting records again, I see The Volunteers were 6-for-28 from the field, which is a woeful 21.4%. They were also 1-for-15 from three-point range, which was bad enough for 6.7%. Feix Okpara and Jordan Gainey were the team's leading scorers with four points each. Meanwhile, Zakai Zeigler was a brutal 1-for-7 from the field and hit 1-of-4 three-pointers. If that wasn't bad enough, Houston outrebounded Tennessee 26-17. - Yesterday

As I understand it, the House settlement provides both an absolute $ cap and a % of athletic revenue cap for NIL spending. Big East schools don't make big football $, so none of them should be able to spend 8 figures without going way over the % cap. Last Big East basketball TV deal was for $80 million a year for the conference, which has 11 members. Not getting anyone past the round of 32 won't help either. Of course, the Big East is not a defendant in the case, so it would have to opt in, and I haven't heard that it has.
