I do think that things like this push the envelope even further that these kids are indeed employees of their respective institutions and collective bargaining should be on the horizon.

I simply don’t like it. That’s just me. The messaging it sends. Announcing returning players as “re-signings” normalizes college football as pure pay-for-play professionalism, eroding the last pretense of amateurism and the student-athlete tradition... the student-athlete tradition which is an illusion, I know….. we are at pay for play. Just my opinion.

Him wanting a pay day as big as he got last year then failed to produce the numbers needed for that kind of pay. He’s a good number 3 WR on a good team and shouldn’t be counted on to be more than that.

I'm assuming a good chunk of their D will opt out, there's like 6 or 7 NFL players on that side, from what I remember.

I also think it's wise that we remember that we have actual players' family members as part of our OTF family. When we discuss these kids and their performances, their decisions and futures, we have to do so in a respectful and human way. We love all the kids... no matter what the box score says, because at the end of the day, we all understand, on some level, the amount of sacrifice and hard work these young men and their families put in, as a collective, to even receive the offer of responsibility to represent the state at its flagship program. This is one of the main reasons I'm proud to be a member of this community. Let's continue to be gracious as these kids and families make some of the toughest decisions they'll make in life.🤘🏿🔥
