  1. Past hour
  2. Went with hobbies for the autos. I saw Nash posted in x that he got a Parker Livingstone in his first pack. I’m gonna feel queasy pulling all the transfers.
  3. Miami DL Donta Simpson Jr. has arrived at Texas Wednesday morning to begin his time on campus with the staff, OTF has learned. Simpson saw 105 snaps for Miami as a true freshman in 2025.
  4. All-in every year! With the new world order (NIL and the portal) you have the potential to hit the jackpot in any given year. Roster cycles are not what they once were. Be aggressive and play to win.
  5. @CJ Vogel @Gerry Hamilton: How confident would you be entering the season with the secondary as it is at this minute? - - - CB1 - Mascoe CB2 - Phillips N - Littleton S1 - McDonald S2 - Filsaime or D Williams? Rotational / Depth: Roberson, Mack, Black, D Williams or Filsaime, J Williams, Hicks - - - I like our depth: Roberson and Mack really showed me something in the citrus bowl, good reports on Hicks, Jonah can't be counted on to maximize his talent but is already filling reps at a serviceable level. And I really like our D line, taking pressure off the secondary to cover for 4+ seconds. So if we spend more money in the secondary, I think it has to be on a Draft-level starter at safety (like Edwin Joseph), and I don't know if that ROI can compete with instead spending that same money to our pool for other, more critical needs.
  6. Did yall get blasters or the hobby box? i got 2 blasters and one hobby but wondering if I should've gone all hobby..
  7. I don’t know if this was answered already but do you think the staff would take both linebackers or are they just looking to take one?
  8. Hell of a response, Coach Claude
  9. Well. If their goal was to retain some and grow market awareness, it worked. Probably the best time to do it instead of when there are lulls in the season.
  10. If Sark is still here don't expect discipline to change. Has been an issue since day 1.
  11. Okay I put in my order. Curious what you guys are pulling from these sets. I broke out my old upper deck set a few years ago and remembered that I got chykie brown and Keith cash autographed cards.
  12. IMO, this is on S&C. Robertson is often in position but gets pushed around. Several of our large humans on the Oline seem to lack functional strength. It’s on Becton to shore it up.
  13. I don’t personally think that any of the QBs we have lined up have a higher ceiling than Arch Manning. They just don’t have his physical tools. Arch also has the mental makeup and has improved in that regard over the course of the season. I think the odds of Lacey or Bell being better are low. Not to mention, the odds of Lacey or Bell winning a championship in their first year as a starter are even lower. So if we don’t win a championship in 2026, I hope the ever-patient Longhorn Nation is willing to wait til 2028 at the earliest
  14. Today
  15. I think the OP's point is that the way most people talk about ALL IN is like the professional model of sacrificing the future to win today. It is a little different in the college game, but people want to throw a pile of money at every prospect who may possibly have the talent to help us next year, regardless of what it to the culture of the team. But Sark didn't build this program to be like Tech. He didn't build it by throwing piles of cash at mercenary players with no regard for how they fit in the locker room or how their deal will impact the morale of the team. And taking that approach this year because we "can't waste Manning's and Simmon's last year" threatens to destroy the entire model/culture he has built. I am all for Sark doing everything he can to fill holes through the portal, but I also agree with the OP that it should not be at the expense of the PROGRAM and TEAM in 2027 and beyond.
  16. How dare you sir, bring facts to an emotional argument.
  17. I graduated from Texas in December of 2009. Loved the Colt-Shipley connection, still wear my #8 jersey for Jordan all the time. Was a great player at Texas and did everything the right way. HookEm Jordan! Get well soon brother, we're praying for you and your amazing family. 🙏🏼🤘🏼
  18. Praise God that the worker showed up on a day he wasn't supposed to be there.
  19. You could be correct. I think the missing component here is that the kids at Texas might not be considered "misses" at other programs. The bar is set so high (as it should be) that decent players are just getting pushed out. Next year will be very telling. Arch has one more year and Sark and Flood have 8 months to produce an OL worthy of this QB.
  20. So which team has truly signed an elite game changer from the Portal already? List them please...
  21. I appreciate the thoughtful response. We disagree on this. They caught a great 2022 class that had a stud and 4 solid floors. There wasn’t much change from freshman to senior for most. The real problem is it appears he simply leaned on that class and did almost nothing for the ‘23 and ‘24 classes. Not a single person was ready to step up at guard or center. Not one. 52 was very uneven to be a sr. Neto. Hopefully Brooks wasn’t broken. Slide protections were keystone and robotic. You sound like you know line play so it’s confounding that you see hm so effectively when we literally had zero folks ready to step up from the ‘23/‘24 classes. There’s no excuse for it. BTW, I disagree with you but im not arguing with you. You seemed centered in this so I’m really curious what I’m missing. As for Sark, all humans have blind spots and weaknesses. I think Sark is overly loyal and also stubborn to his detriment. His intelligence is what makes him great but it also creates blind spots. I don’t doubt that Flood knows the job but knowing something and effectively teaching or transferring that knowledge is another. Alabama weren’t his players so good or bad, attribution to him is suss. I think last summer when Sark was away with a critical life event, he learned about his staff. I think he was surprised that some couldn’t hold their mud. What I also don’t know, which is a lot, is if there is someone in mind he wants but isn’t available. Flood isn’t awful though this year was. You don’t dump Flood unless you upgrade. Maybe there’s a Muschamp equivalent. 🤷🏽‍♂️
