  1. Past hour
  2. It’ll be a night and day difference all right. Bc that game will indeed be played at night.
  3. UF’s offense will be a bigger test for this defense than even Ohio State. They will be battle tested from two back to back big road games against Miami and LSU. Could be too beat up to beat Texas but probably not. Sark has to prove he can beat OU back to back, they’re PO’ed and want revenge, and when they have a competent QB before I pencil that in as a win. Should beat A&M regardless as that game has the biggest effect on recruiting for Texas. I’ll throw Arkansas in there as they are a rival, but Texas should be okay in that matchup.
  4. Thanks for summarizing all of these plays. They give a better perspective. I am sure these will all be reviewed in the film room and hopefully we will see improvements during the season. Remember in Arch’s two starts last year, his first one he looked a little rough and the second game he looked more polished. I know this wasn’t his first start, but it was his first start against a team of equal talent on the road in a hostile environment. I think what we see in Gainesville will be night and day difference.
  5. After watching Alabama yesterday I don’t see them getting to Atlanta. I think Georgia and LSU could be the best teams in the SEC. And they don’t play each other this year. Texas has to beat Florida and OU and then I could see the Georgia game being a winner gets to Atlanta type implications.
  6. OU defense is still legit. I’m not as worried about opposing teams offense as I am their defense.
  7. It really is baffling and it may be inexperience for Arch but how do we explain Quinn. They screw up two 5⭐️ top rated QBs and alarms will be ringing.
  8. @Gerry Hamilton Do we have any idea what the game day set up is with Sark/Milwee/assistants? Milwee is in the booth, correct? Do we know who is communicating with Arch/QBs on the sidelines?
  9. Sark is always holding back plays for the next opponent even in last year’s final four lol. Unless he gets to the SEC title game at 9-3 and wins it, they have to go 10-1 in their next 11 games to make the CFP guaranteed. That loss left little margin for error overall, even if it didn’t affect their confidence standings. Will a 6-2 conference record be enough to get them back to Atlanta? Who knows. A 7-1 record get them in guaranteed imo
  10. Wish he’d reach out to David cutcliffe and gage his interest
  11. UF is the season. OU o line is awful. A&M both lines are weak. They are both cooked.
  12. I said if it would not have. I actually agree that it was better for the long run for him to take the L and learn from it. He will learn from this. He now knows what it is like for a big away game. He will learn to hit his check downs. In the long run of this season Arch will learn and Sark now knows more about what he has with the OL and run game. Quinn struggled with the deep throw but was good with quick throws and touch throws. Arch can work on this the next 3 games. If I were Sark I would specifically work on things in these upcoming games to help Arch improve in these areas.
  13. I’m trying to hold on the hope that the playcalling in sec play will be a complete 180 of what we seen yesterday. Sark knew he didn’t have to win yesterday. And the playcalling reflected it.
  14. Honestly, I’m surprised Milwee is still at Texas tbh. I’m sure he’s received OC offers elsewhere over the years, but he’s remained loyal to Sark. He might be eyeing an NFL gig soon. Michael Bimonte was promoted to assistant QB coach. Could be Milwee’s successor if he leaves. Milwee won’t get fired, but Sark would encourage him to get out while the getting is still good. I agree with you that QB play outside of a handful of games should be better in year five of this staff than it is today. The QBs may change (Card, Thompson, Ewers, Murphy, now Manning) but those same issues remain. Like you, I also wonder how much Milwee teaches vs how much Sark teaches the QB mechanics. Were Tagovailoa and Jones just generational QBs?
  15. Category 1: “drop them in any situation, college or pro…” that’s where you’re wrong. Go back and read what you said lol. Second, are you really going to do the Charlie thing lol? Because then you can put Scott Frost, Luke Fickell, and Charlie Strong in the same category as Sark lol. That’s insane. This is why I said your categories are facially deficient. For someone who claims to have watched sports for 30 years (as some kind of “badge of authority) you really don’t get nuance. That was why I said, between 2-3. Again, doesn’t take a rocket scientist, even you can understand that.
  16. Cross posting something I shared elsewhere, but here it goes. I think the following list captures the 11 uncatchable throws stat that ESPN shared. Not to bury the lead either, but the rewatch was far more favorable to Arch than I had thought it was going to be (IMO; watching live felt like a nightmare). I think mistakes in highly emotionally charged times of the game (e.g. first play of the day; last offensive drive of the game) accentuated the disdain for his performance. Without further ado, his “mistakes” drive by drive. Please challenge me if you think anything should be added or removed. 1st drive: -Short on pass to Moore (1st play of game) -4th and 2: RPO and goes with the handoff; should have held and pass (Endries wide open for easy pickup) 2nd drive: -3rd and 11: would need All22 to see if anything was missed downfield, but he took the check down and we punted 3rd drive: -1st play had errant throw to Endries; watching live thought he just missed, but he is hit up high by a DL just as he releases, hence the off throw 4th drive: -1st and 10 after the first first down. Low pass to Moore that may have been picked by Downs if it was any higher. Tight window. No one else looked open, other than a check down. 5th drive: -1st and 10. He sails a pass on Livingstone (slant). Think he saw it late (working through progressions), then quick hitched it and it sailed. (HALFTIME) 6th Drive: -1st and 10 after the first first down. Low ball to Moore for a WR screen. Probably immediately tackled, but him slipping to catch it low led to a loss of 3 on the play. 7th Drive: -Interception (thrown short for sure, but also late, which gave the corner time to ID that ball) 8th Drive: -Near interception was throw into too tight of coverage -3rd and 3 on the 9. Hits Wingo low on the crosser. 9th Drive: -Perfection. TD Drive. 10th Drive: -1st play, sailed it to Wingo on a far and wide toss. Very hard throw period. -Low and behind on Endries (2nd and 5) -High and slightly behind Wingo on a crosser (reminiscent of miss on Wingo on 8th drive).
  17. We gave up 14 points and 2.7 yards a carry and this is what you come up with?
  18. Well you would then need to do the same with Saban and Pitino. Meyer is an elite college coach. Slimy yes but one of the few coaches that you would expect success whoever you plug him in.
  19. Our OL is probably better than Clemson’s too
  20. This, Klubnik ran a sub 23 200m his junior year. He can flat out go. Arch is not that type of runner at all. LSU brought the house with the Weeks brothers and Perkins. Arch would have had a lot of problems if we had played LSU.
  21. He’s in the third category for now, but he’s not Franklin. You need to get Urban Meyer out of that top category. What happened when he went pro?
  22. I know this is Sark’s offense and he’s the QB whisperer, but Milwee is still the QB coach. At what point does he get put on the hot seat? Quinn’s footwork seemed to regress over the years, and coming into this game I actually said I loved Arch’s feet. But his mechanics were rough, and the footwork was the most alarming part. The sidearm stuff doesn’t bother me — plenty of great QBs throw like that — but the rushed mechanics did. Maybe it was just the speed of the game and he’ll settle in, but to me this is the key to the season. Arch has to slow down, clean up the footwork, and hit the easy throws.
  23. Not sure who all was a culture fit but one player in the portal that would make defenses pay attention every play was Zachariah Branch. It would have been fun to watch Branch and Wingo play together. My main concern for this season was the lack of explosive playmakers on offense. I think Jack Endries will be good at TE… and maybe Livingstone will get more comfortable after the nice TD catch yesterday.
  24. Sark’s gameplan was as bad as Arch’s execution of it. Where was the creativity? I’m baffled.
  25. Next three games will look better because of who they are playing. It will be a while before they play somebody with a pulse. Sark said he told Arch to be Arch. I don’t know Arch personally, but I think he would have liked to run more. Sark said after the game that Arch is better when he gets hit, so running him would have helped with that. Sark seems intent on proving his offensive line is too physical for anyone to handle. It never seems to enter his head that he can’t just line up everyone and do smash mouth football against everyone. Red zone issues and penalties have carried over from last year. Again, it will look better over the next three games because of who they are playing.
