  2. Here’s where I disagree with Connelly’s holes on the lines and receiving core “logic”… Lance Gunn said it best this morning, “Colin Simmons wasn’t a starter but he can play. Burke wasn’t a starter but he can play.” Sark added Power 4 DTs Cole Brevard, Travis Shaw, Maraad Watson, Lavon Johnson to go with Alex January and Melvin Hills who have been in the program. Experience all along the line. Josiah Sharma, Lance Jackson, Justus Terry, Myron Charles as added depth in recruiting on the DL. Brooks Austin says it about Georgia all the time, “you don’t have to fill holes if you’re consistently recruiting and bringing in talent.” That’s what Texas is doing, doesn’t feel like we get the benefit of the doubt so let’s continue proving people wrong. On the receiving core end, DeAndre Moore and Ryan Wingo return. Arch got all his snaps with Wingo on 2nd team last year. We added proven talent in Jack Endries and Emmett Mosley. There shouldn’t be any question here after Sark’s proven it with Adonai Mitchell, Matthew Golden, Silas Bolden, Isiah Bond. Proven talent development in recruiting high school and transfer players via the draft. The spin I can put on Connelly’s SP+ ranking is that 5 feels like the floor for Texas given his assessment. Edit: didn’t even touch on the fact that the OL has all been in the program 2-3 years. Campbell returns, Goosby has experience by fire, Cole Hutson’s had his share of snaps, and Arch has worked with these guys on 2nd team. I had to get back to work 😂
  3. One of the first knocks on Arch was he didn't play against the stiffest competition. Well... he didn't actually play with the best talent either. When your tight end is bigger than your tackles and guards, they're going to get beat and you still have to make something happen. Watch tape of Quinn at SLC, he was never under duress and because so he developed lazy habits and bad mechanics. The same can't be said of Arch, go back and watch Arch's first touchdown throw at Texas. It was at that moment I said, yeah he has "it".
  4. Who are the impact guys next year and who are the development guys?
  5. Enjoy him while he's here.
  6. How many others were signed but opted for MLB after getting drafted? and were there any surprises that chose the MLB route vs. enrolling in school?
  7. If you need a companion piece, I highly recommend Jeff Pearlman's book, "Boys Will Be Boys."
  8. It premieres on Netflix next Tuesday. Like most Cowboys fans, I'll watch so I can remember what it was like when the franchise was winning championships.
  9. If anyone has any particular questions on the class, specific players, etc… ask away!
  10. 100%. Could be nothing of note.
  11. The University has announced season tickets and individual game tickets for all home games at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium are officially sold out through Texas Athletics. The announcement marks the fourth consecutive season that Texas Football has set an all-time season ticket record. In addition, Texas’ allotment for the annual Allstate Red River Rivalry game against Oklahoma is sold out. The game will be played at the Cotton Bowl Stadium on October 11.
  12. Today
  13. If you change it to one loss, and promise that the one loss won't be to atm, then yes I would take that.
  14. I think Moore gets the worst of it for the folks still at Michigan. Harbaugh is never going to coach in college again so I don't really care what he gets.
  15. Separating this from the 10-2 bargain thread was savvy! I'm personally all in for an undefeated season. SP+ at 9 wins feels bearish! 10-2 is what to take to Vegas. I like that the FPI table also includes chances of going undefeated to calibrate exuberance. A 9% chance is pretty reassuring to me! SP+ would curb that enthusiasm a bit but then we can explain away preseason data 😎
  16. Fair enough but I can go to a casino and be entertained for many hours for less than it costs to attend a sports event.
  17. 1. Personally don’t believe it’s something God is pleased with. 2. It’s not wise and you’ll inevitably lose money.
  18. I asked Ja'Tavion Sanders about his "JS" autograph. He said that Topps and Panini made him sign so many cards and stickers that his hand started to cramp, so he just wrote his initials. He's got a few full-signature autos, but part of the problem is that Topps and Panini don't need autographs in every product. With that said, with the way box prices are, they've got to have the autographs for "hits." It's a double-edged sword, I hope Fanatics sorts out.
