  1. Past hour
  2. I'm actually out this morning, but @Jeff Howe is filling in for me. Thanks Jeff!
  3. Rise and shine, it's Coffee and Football time! Today we're joined by former Ohio State linebacker Bobby Carpenter to discuss Texas versus Ohio State in the season opener. We'll also talk the latest Horns news and notes, plus take your questions. Show starts around 8:15 AM!
  4. We Texas fans are worried about this game. We are confident because this game is played 8/30 and not in October. We know as the season goes and Sayin gets valuable reps he's going to get better as the season goes. Same can be said about Arch. But speaking solely of this game it's cause for caution.
  5. You’re not wrong. Ohio State fans need to prepare ourselves that Sayin isn’t going to be close to a finished product against Texas.
  6. Maybe you will be right, maybe not. I trust the process and Day's QB development. There has not been any drop off from QB play. He has coached six consecutive Big Ten Quarterback of the Year honorees. JT Barrett, Haskins, Fields, Stroud, McCord, Howard. Will Sayin be next? Some Freshman can ball out right away, some can't.
  7. Quinn. His recruitment jump started the Sark regime much like Ricky coming back for his senior year did for Mack. Getting to boo that jackwagon Yormark was fun too! When he was healthy early in seasons, he did damage versus Bama X 2 and Michigan. It's easy to remember the flaws, but he was pretty damn good.
  8. You keep forgetting you had an experienced 5th year qb vs a first time starter. One thing about first year starters is they tend to lock onto recievers. It's different this year.
  9. Quinn brought us back. Great Horn.
  10. Great Game by the Long Horns, If I recall we have beaten you both times we have played in Texas. Once in Austin once in Arlington.
  11. Yeah, Michigan’s a championship program. No shame in not dominating them. Texas sold out to stop Jeremiah Smith, and did but lost the game. In the end the only thing that matters is getting a W.
  12. That’s 100% of the national media predictions that I have seen. Also, it doesn’t matter what’s reality, the only thing that matters is what the players believe.
  13. No argument on your point there. Plenty of other options (Innis, Tate, Klare, RB screen) if Texas sells out to bracket Smith again. I do expect him to get at least 6-8 touches though. Reports from fall camp say he is bigger/stronger/faster this year. If Smith is a decoy and runs two DB's off every play that opens up a lot underneath to move chains.
  14. We are down to just three days before the Longhorns square off against the Buckeyes in Columbus for the season opener. Who Is your favorite No. 3 to play for Texas? Some options today include… Jordan Hicks Quinn Ewers Nate Vasher Mossy Cade
  15. What was Smith's production like against clearly the best two defenses he faced in Michigan and Texas combined? Keep in mind Will Johnson didn't play and they had a parch work secondary.
  16. He’s a Michigan booster who actively pays for recruits. You have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to this rivalry.
  17. Don't be surprised if you see a healthy dose of Freshman Bo Jackson Saturday. I agree on Donaldson. Re: Peoples not enough reps to have an opinion yet. My biggest concern for the OSU RB's vs. Texas is how they do in pass pro.
  18. Today
  19. What that young man did in college station coming in cold after an injury made me a believer. He’ll be there and he’ll whip some ass.
  20. Sign up for the Fox One app now. You get 7-day free trial. After the game, cancel it.
  21. Only for this week, it has to be Limas Sweed, it is only appropriate 🤘🏼🤘🏼
  22. Our Buckeye friends here might not want to hear this, but their team this year remind me of the team that went to Alabama and won. We didn't have a JJ Smith, but we did have the best left tackle, Worthy, Sanders, Mitchell, Brooks( up to TCU), a nasty run defense, but no real pass rush that year, and a quarterback that held the team back. That doesn't mean we go to Columbus and win, but it does mean the quarterback is going to make or break your season. Sayin is very similar to Quinn in size, release both arm slot and quickness, but little better athlete. We could not maximize the offense, while Worthy ended up having a good year, with better QB play he's in the conversation for the best wideout in the nation. As good as Smith and the rest of that corp is, they are only as good as the person delivering the ball.
  23. Man, we are spoiled for choice at #4. I saw Roy and thought, why even continue... then Kenny!... Phil is the greatest kicker of all time... Limas did Limas things at the most Limas times! When Makuba isn't the standout, you know you're playing with the big boys. Give me Roy for the win.
