  1. Past hour
  2. That's it for Sean Miller. Again, it's a 6 p.m. start tomorrow for Texas and Florida at Moody Center.
  3. Miller: "We've grown and improved a lot over the last two months." He said he doesn't know that he's coached a team that's improved in the ways this team has in the last few weeks/months.
  4. Would love to see him back in Austin for 1 more year but it seems like that isn’t gonna happen
  5. "They're blowing teams out," Miller said of Florida. "We don't want to be one of them."
  6. One of the things that makes the SEC so tough, Miller said, is that everyone is playing for something every night, whether it's the conference championship, NCAA Tournament seeding, trying to get off the bubble, etc.
  7. Miller: "It'll be interesting to see how our offense is able to score on them." Florida is currently No. 4 in adjusted defensive efficiency, according to KenPom.
  8. Northside High in Warner Robins, Ga. 2027 4-star+ CB Aamaury Fountain A lot of tradition at Northside … one of the best HS teams ever in the Peach State 2006 & 2007 Number of big time recruits and a few NFL guys
  9. Miller: "You have to have a great night taking care of the ball" to have a chance against Florida. Texas can't give Florida easy buckets off turnovers.
  10. When Florida is shooting it well from the 3-point line, Miller said, "it puts them into a position to be the best team in the country" because of everything else the Gators do well.
  11. Miller: "If we can be the best version of what we can be defensively, I think we've got some great moments in us over the next few weeks."
  12. Miller: "We've had a difficult time getting stops... Against Georgia, we just could not guard their perimeter players."
  13. Miller said he was disappointed in his starters at the first media timeout against Georgia because of "how it felt." He's challenged the starters to be better in the first four-plus minutes of the game.
  14. Miller isn't ready to change the starting lineup. However, he'll change it if he sees "guys who are incapable of fighting that fight early on." He wasn't happy at all with the defensive start against Georgia.
  15. Regarding the Traore injury and how it impacts front-court depth, Miller said the Longhorns have to make their eight-man rotation work. "We are who we are at this point," he said.
  16. Lassina Traore (knee) is getting closer to coming back, but Miller said they're not going rush him back. They want to be certain that he's going to be good to go before he returns.
  17. Miller was asked if a win over Florida should guarantee Texas a spot in the NCAA Tournament. He chuckled before saying yes.
  18. "It's tough to get second shots" against Florida, Miller said. Second-chance opportunities and points, Miller said, will be a major factor in who wins the game tomorrow.
  19. Miller said Florida, like Tennessee, is one of the best rebounding teams in the country. One of the keys to this game, he said, is playing it with 10 or fewer turnovers because the Gators won't give up much on the boards.
  20. Miller said he's "looking forward to the future to making some changes here" when it comes to Texas playing better defense.
  21. Miller said it's disappointing that this is one of the worst defensive teams he's ever coached because this is one of the best offensive teams he's ever coached (based on efficiency rankings/ratings).
  22. Miller: "When you get this deep in the year, we're only going to go as far as our defense will take us. Our guys know that."
  23. He knows the team can play well defensively at times. Now, Miller said, it's about doing it consistently.
  24. Teams that aren't great defensively can improve, Miller said. There were segments in the games leading up to the Georgia game where he felt the team played as well defensively as they were capable of playing.
