Our streak is at 4, we did not have a Pick 6 in 2020. Ethan Burke (2024), Jett Bush (2023), Josh Thompson (2023), D’Shawn Jamison (2022), Jahdae Barron (2022), Josh Thompson (2021) have had Pick 6s during this streak. -
That was probably my 6th most favorite quote from that rant lol

The pick six stat is wild. In today’s game, feels like most teams should be able to accomplish at least one pick six a year. Wonder how many years Texas has rattled off recently. 22 years is Kyle Whittingham’s whole HC tenure at Utah -

Dan lanning is 2-0 when playing against teams who’s opposing head coaching run their mouth about his program the week prior to the game (Colorado and OK ST)😂 -
I'm not going to lie, I was so disappointed. I started yelling "Blake noooo, whyyy." lol.

Is our D-Line a problem
Dread-headed Texan replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
While there are some flashing red lights, there is a section of the fanbase that drive themselves to the verge of a heart attack or stroke. They never take a step back and look at the whole college landscape. They seem to think that to win it all you have to be the best everywhere. As if Michigan didn't just win a couple of years ago without an NFL reciever on the roster. -
Perfect fit for the team known as "The Children of the Corn." Didn't like him at Baylor. Didn't know him at Temple. DON'T like him at Corn U. Otoh, the ARMY HC -- now THAT was some genuine enthusiasm in a totally appropriate context.

Yawn! Mike Gundy is at Okie State, Bill Synder at KSU. And they won more important games than Brown won at North Carolina. Greg Schiano is at Rutgers. Brown just another average coach who landed a great gig at Texas, and then could barely finish second in the South Division most years. One thing about his time at NC, second time, and Texas., his departures were the same. He was forced out.

I am so glad Sark has welcomed Mack to the program...
AusMOJO replied to Califashorn75's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I've actually been wondering about that. Who do you even replace someone like Sark with, if he does go to the NFL like some people suspect he wants to. That's always tough to do, huh? I'm not really in the know when it comes to good coaches and all that, except the obvious ones out there. -
Is our D-Line a problem
Bunk Moreland replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
We should have kept Jaray Bledsoe instead of Colin Simmons. We should fire Sark and re-hire Tom Herman because clearly our d-line is failing the pee test. We should merge with OU so that we can have a Venables-coached defense. We should just quit football altogether because Arch isn’t already an NFL hall of famer by now. -
As long as CDC and Eltife are here, I doubt a 13 year down period like that ever happens again. If Sark does bolt for the NFL in a few years, I trust they will find the right guy to keep this thing humming. Keep the program at an Ohio State level where a down year is a 10-2 regular season and you’re winning a natty at least once a decade.

Just to be serious for a second, I would like to see a bit more out of our pass rush, considering how talented that room is. Even with a vanilla defense, we should still have been all over SJSU, sack wise. We'll see moving forward but I'm expecting big things from that group this year. Simmons needs to stop trying to do too much and just go with the flow.

Texas Baseball Gains Two Commitments (Monday 7:40 PM)

I love that Schloss has gone hard on Pitchers this time around. He's determined not to be short handed this year. I think he'll make a playoff run this time, but that's just my uneducated two cents. -

Also, I agree with everyone about Steve Patterson, that guy ruined a lot. No mistaking that. But you can't deny that while Mack had some great seasons, he did under perform, for his talent level, etc. Though Mack was never a great X's and O's guy, he was a good leader and program builder at Texas. I'm not sure Saban would've made much of a difference with the leadership around Texas at that point. I'm hoping that we're determined to NEVER let it get to that point again. -

After that Natty loss to Bama, he was never really the same, for some reason. But we're always thankful for him for that 2005 title and recruiting Vince Young. Though he could've definitely had a few more under his belt before that, imo. Either way, I'm fine with him hanging around. Although if he starts talking about coaching again...lol.
