CFP Committee Announces 2026 Schedule
Tuco Ramirez replied to hookem1014's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Ef espn for dictating the CFP schedule. -
Good question. There plenty of pieces to work with when it comes to the younger players in the OL room. it's all about extracting the most out of the tools, and right now I think you see a good crop of toolsy players. This is where development and weight training come in to be the most important part of their development. To your point, had Texas taken two top 100 guys from the in-state last year, Felix Ojo would have been the guy next to Turntine. I like the idea of finding the athletic guy you build over years of development. Kaden Scherer fits that. John Turntine fits that. Nic Robertson fits that. Texas will continue to hunt big game on the OL, as we have seen in previous cycles, while also exploring the longer developing prospects. Five wouldn't be a surprise given the 3 in 2026, and growing scholarship numbers.

No doubt. Rori is the heart of the team. But fortunately Bri Preston has been her understudy for two years. Coach Vic has been praising Bri and putting her in for crucial minutes. I think she will be ready. Hopefully, Rori will make the W. -
Now that the panic buzz for 2026 is dying down. Let’s talk about the future. As much as we want 2026 to be our year… we want continued success in the SEC; and that requires dominate trenches. I like where we are recruiting for DL. Early contributors, developmental guys, and depth. For OL.. feels like the last two years we wanted big names and big numbers. I think the community can agree we came up short of those goals despite great players like Turntine. is it a stretch to get 5 this cycle and do we land 2 top 100 guys?

https://www.on3.com/news/college-football-playoff-announces-quarterfinal-semifinal-dates-bowl-sites-for-2026-2027/ The 2026 playoffs will last 38 days. That’s about 42% the length of the regular season.

I had this conversation with someone the other day, he got really good at the throw ball at the feet of a RB while in the arms of another defender. Did it a ton during A&M game. -

I am more impressed with the throws he didnt make than the ones he did. Threw it away when needed and didnt put the ball in danger the last half the season. -

I hope so...i'm not doubting the coaching staff ability to fill her role as a pg. I'm just saying it's a concern having to replace that level of player. She does all the dirty work on the court for us and then some. She really sets the tone for everyone else to follow. But you know me, concern doesn't equal sky is falling. I'm just saying that it's gonna be hard and the team is going ot have to step up to replace her. -

Another great toss, and again rolling left. One of Wingo's best catches of the season too. -

I like the 2nd half TD to wingo vs. aggy. First TD of the game for us and really turned momentum as it gave us the lead for good. stepped up in the pocket and threw on the run (a bit inaccurately) and wingo made a great adjustment. He had been killing them in 1st half with scrambles from the pocket, but this time he burned them with the bomb. -

Bri Preston and Lizzy Spaight have that Rori heart. Lizzy is a Rori clone. Holguin is more of a three point shooter, but she can play point too. We have a wealth of combos that Coach can use. There is a rumor that there is another big just waiting to get signed. -

You forgot Holguin and Izi Itute from Luxembourg. These two are studs. Plus you forgot the big girl who is redshirting right now, Lovisa Hose. We are 13 deep next year, because we have the guard from Ireland too. -

We missed like 2-3 walk in TDs in that game because the OL was so bad. -

My biggest concern is for next year we lose a lot of our heart and soul with Rori and our inside presence with Oldacre. Oldacre doesn't concern replacement wise...but Rori does. What she brings to this team is immeasurable.
