  2. Someone said it above: Beat Ohio State, 10-2, in the playoff. Probably a home game. Beat (Insert random team), 10-2, in the playoff. Maybe a home game, maybe not. Lose to Ohio State, 9-3, miss the playoff. It's that simple. In an ideal world they make adjustments to 14 team with only two byes, or 16 team with four byes. There's no guarantee of that. There's an argument to keep Ohio State and Michigan the next two years because both are our home swings (we've been away at each past two years). Playing Notre Dame 2028-2029 would be moronic. Look at what is happening to Miami right now. They beat ND, same record, and are getting left out of the playoffs. I don't know why any blue blood program (or even remotely close to blue blood) would schedule ND until they join a conference. They play by their own rules and get the benefit of the doubt year after year. I wouldn't be surprised if they surpass OU and get to play them at home! It's a real detriment to the sport as a whole and I hope Texas doesn't engage with that program until they adhere to the rules every other program does. I hope things change and Texas can keep challenging themselves out of conference, but if they miss this CFP they should at least use the potential lost money if games were cancelled as future leverage against the way the committee currently operates. Hook em, lot to look forward to next year!
  3. You cannot be so dense as to understand the difference in your examples and OP's. No one is canceling TX-OU or TX-TAMU. Geebus.
  4. Kiffin allegedly has told assistants that if they are not on the plane tomorrow they don't have jobs at LSU after the season. Apparently to put Keith Carter the ADs feet to the fire by threatening to tank their playoffs assistant pool if he doesn't get his way. He wants to have his cake and eat it too by taking the LSU job but coaching through the playoffs. Lines up with the college gameday talking points from Sexton clients herbstreit and saban. Unreal......
  5. So…. Should Georgia cancel Georgia Tech? Should South Carolina cancel Clemson? IF we had a 16 team playoff, we would be in. Michigan and Ohio State are both coming in the next two years. That’s f’ing awesome.
  6. Well we’re sitting with our pride at home watching Notre dame beat up on cupcakes and in the playoff. These high level games cause injuries.
  7. We've entered the era of NIL and 11-15 team playoffs (plus a handout). The punishment for losing to the #1 team in the country this year, in week 1, will be to miss the CFP (yes, with the other body of work, which would otherwise still place us top 10). I get why we did it, and I've enjoyed the matchups. But CDC should cancel the Ohio State, UM, and ND games coming up if that committee keeps us out. There is simply way, way more downside than upside, and you're going to get those great matchups in the playoffs instead. #changemymind

  9. Valid point. https://masseyratings.com/cf/fbs/ratings
  10. And Arkansas. That’s a clean sweep of our big 3. Sure, it’d be fun to make the playoffs again, but to say the season was a waste is just moronic.
  11. Get rid of the auto G5 bid. This isn’t March Madness. Respect to their seasons but those teams will never go on a Cinderella run in the CFP….
  12. While I think the brand holds some weight, there’s far too many 10 win teams above us. There’s no chance we make it in.
  13. Damn some of yall are genuinely crashing out, I mean I get it but holy…
  14. CFP is all about the money 💰 and Arch/Texas delivered to make their 2025 Kickoff season the best ever. Sark laid out the narrative. The entire country will tune in to see Arch Manning play. There is no bigger DRAW than a Manning. College and Pro pundits/podcast/show will just love talking about Manning. Money talks and Stupid Walk. Media or the CFP will not blatantly admit it but bottomline it's ratings and money. Just slot Texas into the playoff! JC Horn
  15. Cams awful, game losing cut inside instead of going out of bounds and promptly fumbling the game away cost him a mil in the portal.
  16. 2 is less than 3
  17. Texas has a better resume than Alabama minus the Ohio St game. Case in point is Alabama. Don't schedule Ohio st and you clear Alabama's playoff resume.
  18. Personal opinion...clevelsnd is the best dl in this clsss as a nose interior line type. Quick 1st step for a big fella and holds the poa better than most dls ive seen. This would be a huge loss for Texas, not a death knell, but one of those guys that the Horns would definitely wish to have. Difference maker.
  19. This is a lot of cope. Everyone wants to watch Texas go and compete for a shot at a title. The seniors deserve it.
  20. Yep - try missing the playoffs over this.
  21. You should see him play in person. He's different.
  22. Guys we should skip the Ohio state game next year, mostly to avoid injuries and not give any of our plays away
  23. ...which is why we will not get in. The Utah AD will make sure the Big 12 sneaks in 2 somehow.
  24. Can someone dig into this a little deeper and how some of these members are able to be objective and unbiased? Current ADs and former coaches with ties to schools. https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/selection-committee/roster/2025-26 I respect Ivan Maisel and his opinions but why in the hell would the AD of the Univ of Arkansas (for example) be in favor of letting Texas in? The AD of Utah?
