Sark eyeing NFL per report
Gerry Hamilton replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I would say first, it's very difficult to win a NC. And now in a real playoff its going to be harder than ever. So he got the Notre Dame head coaching job at 36 years old, and in three years had ND in the National Title game with zero previous head coaching experience. And he did it with tremendous coaching, and knowing who to hire. His teams play the right way for me. He's proving to be a very good evaluator and developer in his first college gig, and one with a lot of pressure. He's light years better as a HC early in his career vs. Sark IMO. Like not even close. I really believe he's built so well for current CFB and as a leader of a program for the next 9-10 years. Does that guarantee and NC? Not in todays day and age of headed to 16 team playoff and eventually probably 20-24 teams playoff years from now. -
No regrets on either side of that one. Bo is having a lot of fun in the NFL.
-
This board has been overrun with casuals.
-
He hasn’t done it yet

When Bo left Texas, the NIL allocation wasn't there on the DL in HS or portal recruiting the way it is now. I think Bo leaving, in a weird way, is what pushed Sark to make the needed change in DL NIL allocation.

Ryan Niblett is now leading the nation in punt return average yardage (25.5 yards) and tied for second with 2 punt returns for TDs (leader, Vicari Swain, has 3). -

Hopefully Wingo continues to mature and refine his craft this offseason. Too gifted to be winging it out there. -

Definitely. He was blocking 25 yards downfield on the Wingo 60 yard catch and run to start the game. -

Emmett made a great catch but he was also blocking his tail off several times. I think he is our best blocker WR which we have needed. - Today

Bo is with the Saints. LOL

Lol. Thanks CJ. I obviously don't follow LSU enough but sounds like he saw this coming, huh?
-
Bo jumped ship already from LSU. He has been with the New Orleans Saints since February.

Alex C started following Bo Davis... Regret?
-
So, the way Kenny B has recruited both in the portal and HS is probably the best thing going for this team. That deep group in both edge rushers and interior dline has proven to be a great strength. Kanu, Shaw, Watson, January, and Terry are all making plays and seem to compliment each other well. I am not saying we should have any regret about Bo Davis leaving. I am, however, wondering how much Bo Davis regrets leaving to jump on a disasterous sinking ship.

If Wingo could catch he would have had 50 more yards -
I’ve said it for a while now, Sark has topped out as a college program builder. He can take you from bad to good and even really good. But taking you from really good to great takes a special kind of coach, the kind that I don’t believe Sark is.

Please elaborate.

Forrest J. started following Sark eyeing NFL per report

@Gerry Hamilton you are really high on Freeman. Can you tell us why you think he’s so good and why it hasn’t resulted in a title at Notre Dame? Like Sark, he seems to be a good, but not great head coach. I don’t see more than that in him. What am I missing?

Per capita Louisiana is one of the best recruiting grounds in the country. The state does a really good job of funneling that talent and helping the talents family get jobs, move, etc so long as their kid goes to LSU. In Florida you are competing against FSU, Miami, Georgia, etc.

3 Stars of the Game vs. Mississippi State 2025 *** Star No. 1 – Arch Manning For my money's worth, that was the best game of Arch Manning's 2025 season. The first half statistically did not pop, but add in three drops to the review and he was actually spot on for most of the game. Manning still had a rough slant throw to Mosley on 3rd & 2, but other than that, he ended with 346 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, while adding two scrambles of 10+ yards as well. Star No. 2 – Ryan Niblett This individual season for Ryan Niblett has been like one I have never seen. Niblett has singled handedly been responsible for 24 points by himself over the last three weeks, all out of the punt return game. And credit to that unit a well, the blocking set up has been spectacular, and overall execution has been great. Star No. 3 – Ethan Burke Texas trusted Burke with the most snaps of his career and he came through with a very strong performance. A sack, two tackles for loss and a blocked field goal are all on the tally for Burke. It was interesting hearing from Burke postgame, the blocked field goal sequence is practiced step by step in practice. It isn't "Go be big!" but instead a closely monitored process that is mimicked in practice often throughout the week. HM1 Anthony Hill Jr. – Another weekend of being one of the top tacklers for the Longhorns, this time with 2.5 sacks added to the tally. HM2 Emmett Mosley V – The game-winning touchdown in overtime was a remarkable snag. I think Texas needs to redirect some targets this way to Mosley moving forward.

Ten years ago, and I would agree with that. In today's landscape, Florida has a bigger denominator in the only metric that counts - $$$. LSU faces a different landscape now; all programs can do what they've been doing for years.
-
Honestly, I think Purdue has a really good HC, the guy from UNLV who had that program humming. Despite their record this year, they look much improved from the past few years.

Victor Wembanyama is a total freak thread

I just hope we get 70 regular season games out of him this year ... would love to see what his season averages look like 32-33 ppg, 13-14 reb, 3.5-4 blocks with 150'ish made 3's
