Let my 2 out this AM; they did their business, but the Boxer turned to me and seemed to be saying, 'can you clean this crap up, and turn up the thermostat? We cold!'. 😆 -

The snow has arrived in Austin. I have warned my dog, that if she wants to play around in 18 degree weather she will be left outside 😂. If she knows what's best she'll take care of her business, and come back inside to 75 degrees. - Today

Tolerance for college football woes is waning
Jc Dobbs replied to Junior's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I quit the Dallas Cowboys after they were a no-show at home vs the Packers and their rookie QB. And I had been a Cowboys fan since childhood. I was turned off by the NFL's venture into Wokeness and I haven't watched Pro football since I stopped caring about the Cowboys. I tried to watch but discovered I no longer cared. I haven't watched an NBA game in many years after following the League since I was a youngster. Same for MLB... last game I recall watching was when the Texas Rangers were one strike away from winning the World Series. So CFB and the Longhorns have been my refuge. I still watch Nowhere State play Whattsamotta U on TV. Some of the things about the new landscape of CFB bother me but so far I am still caring. I'm retired now and I realize I'm no longer in the target audience for Pro sports but as College sports moves more and more into the professional mode I will hang in as long as I still enjoy the College games and I'm a Texas Ex, so I will always love the Longhorns. Hook 'Em! -
12 is not enough in a sport with such large disparities in schedule difficulty across teams and conferences. Selection committee is unable to adequately balance strength of schedule with win/loss record resulting in their rankings being based mostly on number of losses. This means a 10-2 Notre Dame, Texas tech or byu team with very easy schedules next year, will get in the playoffs over a hypothetical 9-3 Texas with a much more difficult schedule even though they’ll likely end up with more top tier wins than those teams but will be penalized for having 1 more loss. just look at the committees final rankings for 2025 which had Notre dame and byu ranked ahead of Texas despite Texas having more top 15 wins than those two teams combined and having played more top 15 teams during the season (5) than any team in the playoffs

Also, this is the most action we’ve ever had in a UFC thread. May be time to just start a running one with all our new members.

It’s going to be so tough to top that. we get another UFC number next week that’s incredible Also, Sean Strickland fighting in Houston next month!

Early favorite for FOTY, damn that was good! Reminds me of that war Robbie Lawler and Rory Macdonald had back in the day.

Great fight, all comes down to 1st round imo

Both are some of the toughest SOBs on the planet. I think you could tell Paddy was stunned by how hard Justin hits. Love both of those dudes but JG is one of my all times faves. Freaking phenomenal fight.

THAT. WAS. EPIC.

It’s because we don’t have to be 100% better at every position, we just have to be a little bit better at some. While several positions will be a lot better. And I like the burnt orange coolaid! There I said it.

I don’t know how much longer I’ll stay invested in college football with all the issues and lack of real leadership and accountability. I quit the NFL 5 years ago for other reasons and never looked back and can see myself doing the same with college if things don’t change. Ratings are at all time highs though, so people in charge don’t feel the pressure to make the hard decisions and are content kicking the can down the road. They are looking out for their own interests or whats best for their conference instead of what’s best for the sport. Why should I spend my limited time, focus and money on a sport that takes us for granted?
