  1. Past hour
  2. I don’t need you to confirm what is already well known, buddy.
  3. The "never" thing is a little misleading. In the way back machine, the two polls were AP and UPI - so UPI not Coaches. I think we would've been first in both those polls in 1970
  4. Damn! Perhaps Texas can get a visit from a 2027 guy.
  5. Chris Gilbert was a fantastic player who is often overlooked. Both he and Charles had 3 great years, but want to keep Gilbert's memory alive.
  6. Graceson Littleton gets a lot of mention. Kobe Black, Wardell Mack or Warren Roberson stepping up at CB could push Guilbeau back to Star which in turn impacts S. Lots of moving parts.
  7. Phil Harris from the 1963 Championship team?? Should be a picture somewhere if I have his number remembered correctly? Chris Gilbert was the first back to have 3 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons in the NCAA. Jim Bertelsen replaced him on the 1969 National Championship team.
  8. That fourth quarter against Nebraska. That jet fast TD against OU sucks when he was a freshman. Big game in Stillwater.
  9. Don’t worry Blake you won’t be muted today you’re doing a great job
  10. Need Blake off mute and ready to fill in at RT today starting at 8:15 😂
  11. American Heritage has 2-3 2026 WR's returning for sure. Brandon Bennett is an FSU commit ... has chance to be very good. Also a track guy
  12. Today
  13. If we start at 8:15 today, I’ll play the lottery right after the show and then probably not be seen the rest of the week as I count all my winnings.
  14. Jamaal Charles + VY returns = unstoppable run game!
  15. I see you’re amusing yourself with the 8:15 start time 🤣
  16. Wake up with Coffee and Football starting at 8:15 AM (😂). We will talk Texas and take your questions. https://www.youtube.com/live/htTeWp41ayk?si=u7NA18A_8sOCtemE
  17. Texas is 25 days away from squaring off against the Buckeyes in Columbus for the season opener. Who is your favorite Longhorn to wear No. 25? Options today include: Jamaal Charles Chris Gilbert
  18. I knew about the year before but I thought Ohio St was #1 last year given all the guys that turned down the draft to return plus the portal additions. They were most everyone's pick to win it last pre-season.
  19. Yep. And further back he spent several years as an assistant/coordinator at USC under Pete Carroll. Those teams were frequently living in the #1 slot and rarely lost big games. Coincidentally enough, the Texas game for the natty was the only big game I can remember those teams dropping. If they lost it was usually to some unassuming unranked Pac 12 opponent on the road haha. They were generally free money in OOC, ranked matchups, and major bowl games. Saban + Carroll mentorship is about as good as it gets at the college level.
  20. Looks like he has a speedy WR who I think is in the 2027 class. Gerry? https://youtu.be/-oq8iYU1EzQ
  21. Marcel looking really improved 😂😂
  22. Love that. Flipping the field is so underrated. I remember when bama had that tall punter that could boom it and with their defense that was a huge weapon.
  23. Our place kicker needs to get in the lab and up his game! He needs to be #1 as well. Same with ole Hot to Trott O’Neill!
  24. Have been meaning to join this site ever since Jeff Howe came over. With all the YouTube content, I assume you can give a one hour slot every week to Rod Jeff, and Matt Butler for the Blitz, right? I am a former non-football athlete, who did not grow up in an area where football was big, but knows a thing or two (or I’d like to think so) about sports. I never thought I would ever want to listen to a football podcast. When I switched over to driving to work during the pandemic and shifted away from public transportation, I picked up Longhorn Blitz. In a world where content is generally standardized (and shallow), the Blitz was something else. A show that did more - gave you the why and asked you to meet it where it was. You got the quantitative piece (and I don’t even buy into that much in sports), but the intangible pieces as well. Almost like a 60 Minutes of Longhorn football. And for the folks who would listen, like I would over the nearly handful of years I listened in the peace and quiet of my car, you got a football education. So, please bring it back - if only to add more perspectives and approaches to what you are doing here.
