Texas women's basketball portal thread
Califashorn75 replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Well "re-build" has a negative connotation, however, the talent coming in is amazing. Unfortunately, we lost Rori to the draft. We will also miss Kyla. We won't miss the three portal transfers because Isi Itute is much better than Carlton, Bri Crittendon is better than Aaliyah Crump, and Addison Bjorn is bigger and just as good a shooter as Jordan Lee. Hopefully, Bri Preston can step in and run the team! It's interesting that Coach Vic had really been quiet throughout this process. -

I don’t eat there but I would not have a problem taking their money. Awesome opportunities. -
To the “health and science” of football players? Can we play with these words, and what the money can be alotted to?

As much money as I have sent to Dell over the years, I am feeling a tiny bit philanthropic today.

This is an important point, but there's a hidden point too. The second and third teams etc. making the playoffs from the P2 conferences tend to have an easier league schedule as well. Consider Slurp last year, which did not play anyone until us, which was after Thanksgiving. Ole Miss played an overrated OU (win) and Georgia (loss). Alabama played UGA twice and lost, lost to OU. Its best win was Tennessee. (And don't forget the loss to FSU.) If you look at the relevant Big 10 schedules, they are similarly room service oriented. Indiana played two teams - Oregon and tOSU, the latter in the league championship. tOSU played two teams - us and Indiana in the league championship. You can make an argument about Michigan, and I get it. But we beat them handily with mostly our backups, and they had limited opt outs. Oregon played one team - Indiana - in the regular season. Now, pick up our schedule from last year or this one and tell me that it is easier than any of these schedules, even if you take the tOSU game out. It isn't, so why are we making it harder on ourselves?

I agree, I just hope as a consumer, Ohio State doesn't follow that trend. In a soon to be 16+ playoff, it's pathetic in my opinion if you use the committee as an excuse to schedule weak OOC opponents. The next five years (as of now, could change) Ohio State has - @Texas - vs Alabama - @ Alabama - vs Georgia - @ Georgia

He went to Memorial High school in Houston. My friend use to give him a ride to school every day when Michael was a sophomore. My buddy says he went in his room one morning and there were computer parts all over the floor. He would take computers apart and put them back together.

My sister (UT Grad) is the Vice President of Operational Excellence at The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. I get to see the great work the foundation does on a regular basis. Michael and Susan are genuinely good people who have chosen to share their wealth in so many good ways. Proud to have them associated with our university!

As long as they’re not eating it and just collecting the big bucks. -
Aside from having the largest endowment of any public university by a wide margin Texas has had the benefit of wonderful wealthy donors. There are generally considered to be eight elite state flagships plus one elite public tech, and Texas is one of the elite flagships. It is one of two flagships in which all departments are ranked in the top thirty in America. And Forbes just called out Texas as one of 20 institutions, public or private, that are properly preparing graduating talent for the changing job market (The New Ivies, April 8). The resulting flip side is how competitive the school has become since my day. While the overall admit rate is about 27%, Cockrell is at 11%, McCombs is at 9%, and the architecture and honors programs are comparably squeezed. I have twin granddaughters who are both in the top 5% of their junior classes in HS - one is number 1 - who legitimately fear they will be accepted into UT but not into business and engineering, respectively. And God forbid one should fall down to top 6% and be looking down the road to The College That Got One Per Cent Smarter when Texas changed auto admits from the top 6% to the top 5% last year.

His measurables would have to be pretty far off for Muschamp to sign off on that one.
