Florida? Really?
Dread-headed Texan replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I believe Florida has deeper tackles, but I like OSU everywhere else. I don't expect to get the same push against Florida, but the edges and secondary will have problems against us. We learned more about Texas against OSU than Florida did against LIU. There were so many broken tackles that led to explosives, and Florida place kicker should be called Auburn. -
I’m not afraid of Georgia with their QB. I’m more afraid of what we won’t do than I am what others might do to us.

Within striking distance. Five weeks for Sark to figure out how to get the most out of this offense. https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cfb-hq/rankings/coaches-poll-top-25-college-football-rankings-week-2-2025

Florida? Really?

My take maybe bad. Starkville is Rowdy, Akry is rowdy, College Station is rowdy, Athens is rowdy, the Cotton Bowl is rowdy. There is a YUGE difference tho, only one of those teams has the horses and roster to get it done. -
CFP: Texas vs Texas Tech in first round?

The ND love is unreal. If the media really thinks Miami is now a consistent, national power, they've lost it. -

Lmao man. Bad take. You’re not understanding what kinda environment the swamp is . Especially when Florida is playing well. If they come into the game undefeated after beating LSU? What arch seen in Columbus will pale in comparison to what he sees in the swamp at night. Take it from somebody who’s been . That place gets ROWDY -
I think Florida’s offense will be good, but the verdict is out on the defense. We will learn a lot about them in the next 3 weeks. The good news is Florida won’t be able to hide anything from us, whereas we should be able to save wrinkles. We essentially have a month to prepare for Florida. There will for sure be no excuse for us to not have a good gameplan for Florida. Not knowing Patricia at the CFb level was a caveat that neutralized game prep

Florida likely has a better DL and run game than OSU. If Lagway is healthy and playing well after going to LSU and to Miami, they'll have more firepower at QB. Florida doesn't have the receivers and sure doesn't have the defensive back 7 of OSU. If Texas doesn't play well, Florida can hurt us.

Florida? Really?

Florida may have played better, which brings me back to the qb, Dj really didn't. He was still making the same mistakes like holding the ball, not getting it out on time, misses routine throws, and taking sacks. If he holds the ball against Texas, this defense will have a historic day. -

In order, assuming they lose no more than one game along the way, the biggest threats to Texas winning the conference and winning it all are Georgia and Ohio State. Penn State, like Clemson has a very experienced roster, but have to see how PSU performs against Oregon and Ohio State to determine if they can take that next step. Clemson will still win the ACC unless FSU, Miami, or Louisville rises to the occasion. I do not think Clemson matches up well with Texas. Still don't trust Brian Kelly to get it done, but he could take them to Atlanta and the CFP.

Florida? Really?
Dread-headed Texan replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I wouldn't go that far, but there's a tendency for our fanbase to not look at where a team is, or what they actually are, and judge them on who, what, and where the team we're going to face is. I'm not one who thinks Texas should go undefeated every year, but most times I'm in the ballpark of where the team will finish. Even with the loss last week my expectations of a SEC ship and Natty haven't moved. And if we're going to reach those goals, in my opinion Florida isn't a team that scares me. LSU, OSU, UGA, and to some extent Clemson does. -
Florida played much better after the Texas game last with a healthy Lagway. Florida was undefeated after the Texas game beating 2 ranked teams and easily Winn its bowl game.

I don’t think any SEC team can keep up with Texas once Arch calms down. Some wouldn’t even score on Texas.

Florida? Really?
Dread-headed Texan replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Not only does Florida have to do everything right, Texas has to shoot themselves in the foot. And Sunbelt Billy is still the coach. I think most here would say that the best teams in the SEC are Texas, UGA, and LSU. If we're the team we think, we're not worried about Florida. If we are we're closer to Ole Miss than we are to Georgia. -

You really think that? Go back and watch the game. Lagway had like one really good drive after that it was four and outside even before he got injured.
