OTF Premium Ohio State HC Ryan Day Press Conference (Tuesday)
Ironmanz35 replied to CJ Vogel's topic in On Texas Football Forum
1. I agree and like the mentality. Frankly I would like OSU to do that with Sayin and our WR's to start the game. If you are going to make a mistake make it early.... If Sayin is slinging it around moving chains and leads a scoring opening drive the confidence goes through the roof. -
Not saying Ohio State will be surprised in a sense they can't stop Texas, but more of this isn't what we expected. Last year we couldn't hit on deep shots, so the offense was designed to get the ball to athletes and space. Unfortunately, that meant a lot of screens and passes behind the line of screen and yeilded a lot of tackles for loss. This year the offense will be more vertical. Just like Texas, Ohio State will have to stop the run with a light box.

Frankly not impressed with him. I know he had some injury issues last year he did not disclose to the coaches and it really showed up in a couple games with his kick offs and FG attempts He was solid in the playoffs, but a 40+ yarder to win the game. I am closing my eyes and praying. -
We need an update once the deadline passes. If it's not one thing, it's another.

With it be Ohio State that is surprised, or Texas? I can just as easily see Texas being surprised that there is no drop off in Ohio State’s D (if that happens). -
I used to really like Klatt a lot. He’s a bit of a Big 10 homer now. The other day with Cowherd he asked Colin if this is a bigger game for the SEC or B1G and the whole convo delved into talking about how great the B1G is with the best player, best team, best coach, last two national champions, etc. To the root of his question, I wouldn’t pound my chest for the SEC if we win, I’d be happy to say that Texas has gone into Tuscaloosa, Ann Arbor, and Columbus in consecutive years. The SEC didn’t do that. Klatt’s Fox affiliation has watered him down for me. But I will watch this lol

3 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 3?
Oldest Horn replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Derrick Hatchett was a very underrated corner for us. Three year starter with Johnnie Johnson and Ricky Churchman at safeties. -
They're going to be in for a surprise. I understand they don't really follow Texas, but they go all the way back to Sark's second year up to Michigan last year, one thing Sark did to open the game was to let it rip. So that secondary will get tested and this is the first year of the new body type recievers. Gone are the Worthys and Bonds and in are the 6'2" and 6'4" guys who are physical and and can endure physical play.

Its too bad Hicks got caught in a bad stretch of Texas football. Damn good player. Quinn will always be a favorite. Say what you want, but still lead us to back-to-back semifinal appearances, and won some damn big games -

Agree with this, less time to think and overthink, let your training and natural abilities take over. I was never an elite athlete, but I did complete some Ironman triathlons, my friends always told me on race day to ease my nervousness - just trust your training. That's all the Longhorns needs to do, trust their training - they have some of the best coaches in the sport. -

We wanted him in prison for treason. He did go 4/4 in the playoffs so we are hoping (praying) that momentum carries over into the regular season -

I think it’s because in their minds Ohio State has the best secondary in CFB, and if Texas has the #1 LB room, then Ohio State has the #2 LB room. That combined with two new WRs, and 4 new OL and a new TE they aren’t expecting Texas to be able to move the ball consistently unless it’s coming from Arch’s legs -
Yep. Today by 5:00 EST is what I've seen.

I am also worried about this game as is Buckeye Nation. Frankly pounding the rock inside may be a recipe for success against us.. Our D-Line is new, they have experience but this will be their first year as starters. The matchups in this game are going to be fun to watch, if it is a tight one as I expect it to be, who make the better adjustments at half. We have both a new OC & DC. -

My take on this: Sarks 15 play script success : bama…Michigan… A&m … it his secret to drown out 110,000 fans and neutralize genius def coordinator calls Arch is a fast - decisive… attack … play him wuick i predict Sarks goin fast fast fast … no huddle…doubling down on Arches … strengths no way he lets his qb get overwhelmed by overthinking, allowing defenses to call in plays , faking looks Sarks scripts combined with Arch could be lightening in a bottle… … Sark believes Arch is a version of Burrows… a champion.., Sark knows what he has… a Manning that is better than Peyton and Eli… eventually Sark will just keep firing… goin fast, Arch plays fast… thats who he is fundamentally worst mistake Sark could do is play Arch in a slow …read the def…, allow def coor to confuse him play him quick… fast.. scripted especially in his first big game! Play your players quick.. machine like.. full throttle less thinking, full speed those first 15 plays! -
Popcorn in hand. Similar to Fox One, Hulu is another good option as well. I believe the contract ends today, correct?
-
Why are they talking about Arch as if he's Josh Allen? Sark isn't going to run zone read and designed run plays when he doesn't know who the backup qb is. Sure Arch may scramble here and there, but the Arch that got knocked out the game isn't the Arch Ohio State is going to see. That was just a package to get Arch in the game last year.

I know this was to Ironmanz but I listen to “Austin & Birm” podcast. It’s a daily podcast just like OTF. As far as content to read, you can’t go wrong with ElevenWarriors.com
