I am just not talking about this one data point. We are seeing a pattern. The reports that he does not even call recruits back, misses phone calls etc etc. Is bad.

I agree with you in the idea that Nansen deserves criticism. His LB's looked worse as the year went on, and his recruiting lacked consistency and a plan. However, I'm not sure losing Alliegro is on him. It could be! But I don't know it for sure.

He sure coached our defense u against Michigan. I thought our linebackers have played well.

In recruiting battles where we’re competing with other “new” schools, I’m pretty sure the only big portal recruitment we’ve lost so far is Alliegro. These players’ current schools have heavy advantages over any outside school recruiting them (if they want to), and that has cost us

Maybe we should be focusing on SEC and ACC guys than so may Big 10 players.

Ohio State is also sending 2 LBs as potential 1st round picks. Pretty good selling point for playing time and getting to next level

Hence why I said so far. We can’t just pretend like Texas hasn’t failed in the portal up to this point. They have missed on just about everyone. That is an issue.

We’re at the point that Sark needs to be called out. That’s two offseasons in a row (so far) that he has failed. Last offseason he was arrogant in thinking what he had was good enough, and didn’t go hard enough in the portal. This offseason, he changed it to be ultra aggressive and focus less on retention, and it’s bit him so far. I know the landscape has changed, but man. It’s a tough look. Lots of schools are figuring out ways to make it work. Very disappointing that we are not so far.

Disappointing development with Alliegro, but I can't blame him. Ohio St did a phenomenal job developing their LB's this season and Columbus is much closer to home. Ohio St continues to beat Texas. Hopefully we can return the favor at some point.
