  1. Past hour
  2. If Texas that played against OU shows up 31-10 good guys. If we continue the abhorrent offense we had last week 24-13 MSU. If we can’t possess the ball MSU will break through on this defense. Unfortunately, given the body of work especially on the road this season I’m taking MSU 24-20 🤬😢. I hope I’m wrong but I’ve got battered fan syndrome and just don’t have much hope even if Baxter is back. I hope I’m wrong, I really really hope I’m wrong.
  3. 5-1 Texas TO Ole Miss. Texas on a 4 point run
  4. Yesterday
  5. 27-10 Texas - 2 offensive TD’s - 1 defensive / special teams TD with 2 Shipley kicks!
  6. Texas 17 Mississippi State 16. Texas' defense finally gets a TD on a pick six by Graceson Littleton despite not having Michael Taaffe on the backend. The offense scores a late touchdown to tie it, and an extra point gives them a 1-point victory. Mississippi State will make sure Ryan Niblett does not have a chance to break a big punt return by kicking it out of bounds and/or pinning him to a sideline. A strip sack by Colin Simmons seals the game for Texas. Offensive struggles continue, but they come through in the clutch to get this team to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in SEC play heading back to DKR to face Vanderbilt and Diego Pavia next week. Hook'em Horns🤘🐂
  7. Epic. Top 3 sports moments in my life.
  8. It won't affect anything in the '26 class. But beyond that, it probably would.
  9. While the talent is much deeper in Florida, the resources are likely the same between Florida and Ole Miss at this point. Florida's NIL is probably worse right now than Ole Miss.
  10. And the viewers turned into the one Big 12 game weren’t there to see the Big 12 team!!! Looks like the SEC on ABC/ESPN is is must see football.
  11. Having games at 10:00 isn’t helping big 12 ratings either.
  12. I enjoy being hated by most. My standard reply is thank you for noticing us.
  13. Yes this is super sad. The guys discussed this at length this morning. Frankly, there just are not any really large exclusive viewing areas for these schools. I not sure that the states of Kansas, Colorado or Utah have that many TV's. The MetroPlex is still big for Tech, but UT and Oklahoma generally prevail. In Houston, its Texas, LSU, and TA/M. All I really say for sure, is that Cody is thinking with his heart and not his head.
  14. I think the biggest issue is expecting guys like Neto in year 4 to be a better option than an experienced player out of the portal. I don’t get how you watch him in practice for 4 years and expect him to start and a week before the season starts he gets beat out by someone who also isn’t ready to contribute. As much as it’s been discussed, I don’t think there’s any scheme changes or changes in play calling that will make this a playoff team. The rest of this season is more about evaluating players and coaches. Changes are needed and a real GM might be a good place to start.
  15. Far be it from me to extrapolate Dan Neil's thoughts, but I think he is saying we aren't very quick off the ball. And, I agree. We just don't get off the ball quick enough. But I stick with my basic hypothesis, "paralysis by analysis". Once we trust our assignments, the quickness and power will come. Quick big is better that quick small. We do execute in small batches, but then regress. My suggestion for all the offense is just shut your brain down and go play...... easier said than done.
  16. Wait till Florida finds out he doesn't call his own plays, they'll have to cut his salary by a few mil
  17. Harder to measure "success" at FAU...
  18. What’s the deal with Lane Kiffin he hasn’t won a championship anywhere much less play in a championship game.
  19. That is a very fair and obvious assessment. I don't think the answer to that is recruiting "undersized" offensive linemen.
  20. I tend to agree. Kiffin to me is like a better Lincoln Riley, great offenses, but not sure they'll field the defense needed, granted Kiffin tried to build a defense through the portal.
  21. 2005 was probably one of the greatest years in the history of Longhorn sports. According to Perplexity AI: The 2005–2006 athletic year is widely regarded as one of Texas’s greatest multi-sport seasons, driven by historic championships in major sports like football and baseball. However, when compared to modern all-sports dominance — such as 2024–2025, when Texas won the Directors’ Cup and excelled across nearly every sport — 2005 was iconic for its high-profile titles, but 2024–2025 surpassed it in overall athletic depth and consistency.
  22. I think the numbers “leaked” out are inflated to make Ole Miss feel like they need to raise the offer to keep Lane (knowing they likely can’t, or won’t want to) and it puts them in a corner. That would be a sound tactic from Florida if they want to get their guy and / or put financial stress on a conference foe
  23. And if that TCU vs UNC game had been in week 4 or 5 the Big 12 would have 0. No one was watching that game for TCU. That said, I still enjoying watching Big 12 games but I'm a sicko who is watching 5 games at once all day on Saturdays.
  24. Bit 12 is dead. No one cares or watches.
  25. Seems like a good thread to drop this X memory - the most fun I've had as a Longhorn fan
