  1. They have other cards to play........but those options would create a full-blown media war and leave egg on someone's face. This option keeps all the B12 noses clean. Really, the B12's current approach is not dissimilar from Tech using the "medical issue card" approach. [for those that can't figure this out: Tech used the generic medical issue/save the child card.......the B12 is going to the we love the child, but we have to adhere to our Bylaws card].................or. It's me, not you! PS: I watched a UTuber yesterday that featured a well know Tech guy. He was adamant that Tech had gone down the wrong path and is bringing all the ugly attention to Tech. His idea was to 'move' Sorsby to NFL and save face.
  2. ? Gambling on your team or against your team is not allowed by the NCAA or any other league as far as I know. That makes it illegal if you compete in that league. He breached his NCAA contract. I am not aware of any sports league that would allow such behavior. This is NOT an issue of preference! Tech has made a mockery out of the NCAA which ultimately means they have disrespected everyone that competes in the NCAA sports arena from D1 through D3. By the way, this has nothing to do with NIL! And, I am not sure your favorite schools hand signal is even in the same conversation. Hookem, I've got a serious issue with your response.
  3. Correction: ... should play another ..... i am confused: Why have rules if you do not or cannot enforce them? Our society has gone off the rails.
  4. There is some good feedback noted above. As we all know, a number of posters seem to be all upset when we don't win. And win convincingly. This is tournament ball. It is not regular season ball. Generally, defense, pitching, and putting the ball in-play are the keys. High strike-out teams rarely win a 4-team double elimination. Coaches do not "save" pitchers. To this end, I really like our chances. The mental toughness required over the SEC schedule should be to our advantage. While the other three schools are certainly worthy, their week in-week out schedules are not comparable. Our guys face top tiered pitching every single week and often get a #1 in the Tuesday game. PS: if you go to the Disch......make it a home field advantage
  5. I assume that this game is to help Lucas recruit his hometown. Maybe give the hoard of UT fans in Houston something to do. Is Miami supposed to have an UP year?
  6. well, they play like girls. should be a good marriage!
  7. What about the guy at Tech, that Baker couldn't beat out? That didn't win any post season awards.
  8. I know guys want to be the "Head Man", but UH is a tough gig. The greater Houston area is generally considered one of the top 2-3-4 areas in the country for high school baseball. That is good. It is also where every serious baseball school shops! Austin, College Station, and Baton Rouge are short drives. They are going to need investment in facilities and to find some serious NIL$. But, it is always a good sign when your staff is in demand.
  9. No, you said that 17 homers wasn't any good in a 'critical' tone. As a side note (and generally speaking), long-ballers have a significantly higher K rate that singles hitters. I might also add that a catcher does roughly 150 squats each game. That alone reduces power.
  10. Jeeze.....17 hrs is a lot of homers. Your comment, however, is not as absurd as ClubWatever.
  11. CC's approach has been interesting. What he really wants is for Tech to sit at the Adult's Table in the main dining room. He didn't get an invite with his checkbook, so now he trying to create a volume component with his 'share the pie' rant. I do not really think he wants to share the pie. He just wants a piece of the pie and a seat at the big table.... and he needs help. The interesting thing regarding this movement is that there appears to be a very limited number of like-minded schools that are genuinely eager to change dining rooms. The overwhelming number of schools simply want extracurricular sports but at a reasonable cost. The real question is going to be, "what are the parameters of the adult dining room?" PS: I am not disagreeing with Steamboat. this is really an addition to
  12. I kind of agree with you....but not entirely. Coaches and umpires should all know the replay rules. For Pete's sake, the conference goes over that stuff ad nauseum. As a former umpire, I am actually surprised that a quick overview of replay isn't addressed at each home plate meeting along with park ground rules, weather, etc.
  13. Given their issues with the law, I am surprised that the Georgia NIL Collective doesn't roll legal compliance into the package. (or a 25% set aside for potential issues)
  14. Is this true? Or is this a ha-ha?
  15. Nice to see that I am not the only one here At The Home, that subscribes.
