I'm interested in seeing what Canady does with her last year of eligibility. Will Tech pay her 1 million to return? Or was the 1 million for two seasons? I've seen people say it was 1 million for one season. Could Canady transfer back to Stanford? Will she enter the portal looking for another major payday? Or could a lost to Texas lead her to seek revenge via pitching for the Sooners next season? Maybe she looks to get free football tickets to watch Arch at Texas? I have no clue,. Hook Em.

Jason Higdon always preached patience. -
Legend has it that recruits just text Gerry "Hi" when they are about to commit to Texas.

I would take Hakeem and 5 guys off the street.

Scouring through the portal for options that best fit what Texas would need for 2026, it is hard to not be enticed by Western Kentucky RHP Drew Whalen. The Conference USA Pitcher of the Year. Auburn, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State have already shown interest. -
I first saw Jerry West play when I was in HS and he was at WVa. Then I watched him for years in the NBA. To me he was the second best guard ever. In college, WVa had an All American 6-10 center, but West jumped center. His defense was the best. His shooting was the best. Only Steph has been as deadly from distance. He even led the NBA in assists one year. He still played a foot above the rim in his 30s. If I could have only six guys to play one game they would be Jordan, West, Bird, Duncan, Wilt, and LeBron, who would be able to sub for everyone else with virtually no drop off.

Longhorn network did something a few years back - kind of a bracket of Texas' greatest sports stars. I think the final was between Earl and Cat. -
Red Auerbach might be in that competition.

That's what makes it fun. Can we at least agree on Eddie Reese as a unanimous choice? -
Softball pitcher: the ultimate MVP?

That's extremely difficult, you have guys and gals before my time like James Street who not only won a national championship, he never lost a game as QB, and he's also thrown the only perfect game in UT baseball history. You'd probably need to make a Mt. Rushmore per sport and even then it would be difficult in some of the sports. Other notable names: Early Campbell (1st Heisman trophy), Cat (Gold medal, multiple PoY awards), Clarissa Davis (national champion in bball, 2x PoY), Ben Crenshaw (3x NCAA champion), Tommy Nobis (national champion), Madi Skinner (3x national champion - back to back with Texas), Julien Alfred for track & field, Tara Davis for long jump, the list goes on and on. -

@CJ Vogel @Bobby Burton @Gerry Hamilton This post got me thinking. When the news slows down a little this summer a fun coffee and football topic would be the University of Texas Athletics Mt. Rushmore. Narrowing it down to four people will be tough. Obviously VY and Eddie Reese would make it. Who would be the other two? Does KD make? He was only here for six months. Would be a fun debate on other names too.
