Moderators CJ Vogel Posted May 9 Moderators Share Posted May 9 Bastrop is only about 30 minutes away from Austin so it was no surprise to see some Texas representation yesterday in attendance for a practice session. I have talked about 2027 QB Weston Nielsen at length in the past, but I want to focus on who else I was able to watch in-person yesterday. *** Perhaps a new name to Texas recruiting circles in 2025 DB Ramonz Adams. The current Texas Tech commit is coming off of a silver medal in the triple jump at the UIL Texas State Finals meet in Austin a week ago. Adams is a six-foot cornerback that saw time yesterday at safety as well. The Bastrop cornerback is very springy and his athleticism is very evident when on the field. I talked to him a bit after practice and despite Terry Joseph being in attendance for the practice, Adams told me he has not talked with Texas all too much so far. From previous trips to Bastrop, I know Adams is locked in with his commitment at the moment and is excited for his official visit to Lubbock June 7-9 – his only official visit locked in at the moment. *** Meanwhile on the defensive line front, 2026 DL Tiki Hola is shaping up to be one of, if not the, top defensive linemen in the state of Texas for the 2026 class. Hola is up to 280 pounds and sees time along the line anywhere from over the nose to out wide at edge. Having seen Hola in both the weight room and now on the field, it is really impressive the flexibility he brings to his frame. There is still plenty of room for his body to fill out and redistribute weight up to the top half. I think there is potential here for Hola to be a top ten player in the state of Texas for the next cycle. Hola has plans to visit Ohio State and Alabama for a camp during the month of June. He was on campus for a spring practice April 11 and the Longhorns are a school that are comfortably in the top group of his contenders at the moment.

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted May 9 Author Moderators Share Posted May 9 Texas is definitely in the evaluation phase right now for Adams. I would hesitate to say there is a strong push expected at the moment, but that could certainly change. One thing I will say about Texas Tech is that the they do a great job of evaluating big time athletes. The podium at the UIL State meet was littered with Tech signees and commits.
