Working Out West

As @Bobby Burton wrote earlier, linebackers coach Johnny Nansen is out in California seeing prospects. He isn't the only one, however, as Texas safeties coach Blake Gideon is in Arizona today as well.

Gideon stopped by Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Ariz., as they have a couple of prospects on the Horns' radar.  The one garnering the most attention is cornerback Jamar Beal-Goines. The 6-foot, 170-pound defender holds offers from quite a few schools including USC, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Texas A&M, Michigan State and more.

Desert Edge is also home to 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman Jalayne Miller.  The 2026 prospect holds a handful of offers already.

At this time, Texas has yet to offer either.

EDIT 5:45 PM: Gideon also went to Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix today. That’s the home to Texas’ Christian Clark, but also to a pair of prospects.

The first being 2025 safety Rylan Dillard-Allen, a 6-foot 170-pound four-star prospect, who is ranked No. 199 overall in the On3 rankings. He has offers from Oregon, Texas A&M, Arizona and more.

The other is 2026 linebacker Jaylyn Colter. The sophomore standout holds offers from Oregon, Arizona State, UNLV and Nevada currently.
