The journey so far!

Ok let's review....

The Longhorns are 7-1 on the season with a bye week ahead and four games to go. How about season high and low lights.

- Beat #10 Michigan comfortably in the Big House in a game that was over before the MU band played Hail to the Victors at the half.

- Beat everyone else at home by big numbers while experiencing  our QB1's annual injury that takes him out of action.  QB2 steps in and gets it done.

- Gave OU a beat down 34-3. That was fun!! Made Bobby happy as well as the rest of us.

- Lose at home to a motivated and very talented Georgia team in a game most thought we would lose before the season. IMO, the dogs still have best material in college football and can make you look silly.

- Immediately go on the road to play an upstart Vandy team who defeated #1 Alabama weeks earlier and won a game despite having way to many self inflicted wounds.

- As a side note, Texas was ranked #1 in the polls longer than any other UT team since 1977. That was a great year. I was a junior, Earl was great and what a defence.

- Just like Rod said last night on the post game show we are complaining from the deck of a yacht. Coaches get paid to fix stuff and I believe Sark is the man to do it. Does that guarantee winning? No , but if you want to be in the game you're going to have some warts and you're going to need to fix stuff as you go.

In addition, I get it and tend to agree with Gerry. Quinn needs to keep improving. Regardless, of what has been said, I believe his recovery from injury has been slow and has held  him back. Which happens to be the same as  a year ago in the TCU game. He needs to get well. The SEC schedule is not for the weak , playing on the road is loaded with landmines.

Finally, I really enjoy this site. I get it that everyone wants to say what they think about the players, games and teams we will play. Fear causes a few people to say some irrational stuff sometimes.

As for me, I'm going to enjoy the cruise on the yacht. The view from the deck is beautiful  even thought the sea can get pretty choppy and the ride a little rough. Hook'Em

I am enjoying this season, Sarkisian has done what we hope that Texas can be, a top program once again.  It is what we wish that Herman and Strong could have been.  The Sarkisian era has teams that have found ways to win and get the gut check, ugly wins when Texas would slip and fall to defeats.  It is nice seeing top prospects and Texas in the same sentence again and Texas is getting their share of top prospects.

Disappointed about losing to Georgia, but I'll take that, not sure why Texas was deemed the favorites outside of Vegas making money.  Hopefully the team will take the bye week to heal up and work to get better for the last games of the season.

Well stated!! Thank you! We still have the deepest QB room in the country. One week at a time and focus on our team and control what we can, attitude and execution. What a great year for college football and to be a Texas fan. Whining from the yacht is pretty fun compared to screaming from a sinking lifeboat just a few years ago!!
