  1. Thanks CJ, I must have missed this earlier today.
  2. In the words of Barry Switzer when talking about Texas recruiting position. " Texas NIL means now its legal". Leave it to Barry to access the obvious.
  3. I have been married to one woman for more than 45 years, worked for the same company for 42 years ,one month, 18 days and 4.5 hours. Was involved with three volunteer different things. Two of them for 12 years the other for 17 years. Two of the three at UT. I don't quit things easy but last week I cancelled my sub to one of the others sites for Longhorn coverage after many years and decided that I am a one site guy. Everything Bobby does is top notch, from the talented people to the vision of what a great site should look like. Just settling in , and enjoying it a lot.
  4. Baseball is such a crazy sport. This team had a losing record in the SEC yet put it together at the right time. Momentum and performance. Amazing calm and focus they displayed in Omaha!!! Great job Skip.
  5. Bobby, it seems aggy relevance has always been defined by obsession to have what Texas has and they don't.
  6. I like that time of night.
  7. Aggy musings. Let's go back to a few years , Aggy has just learned that they have been betrayed by the SEC and that evil Texas has been invited and is going to be a new member of the Southeastern conference. In response aggy panics, screaming they had been promised to be the only Texas team in the conference. The howling is so sever that in retaliation they decide to spend Elon Musk type money to sign the highest rated class (2022) of all time just to beat the sips. Mercenary magic didn't work, Jimbo gone, Elko in! Fast forward to 2026. After losing the first two games vs Texas by double digits each with conference titles on the line and with two of their better teams. This time around they have to rebuild and are once again spending like a drunk sailor. #1 class, lots of 5 star hs recruits and should top what some have said too be more that 50 mil in NIL with hopes of stopping the bleeding and the day drinking. Gerry mentioned recently what life might look like in BCS for Elko if they go 0-3 vs the Longhorns. But I digress! Lets move to baseball shall we. Two years ago aggy is on the verge of a championship at the CWS. They come up short vs Tenn in the deciding game and two days later see their coach head to Austin to work for his friend CDC. Oh what a betrayal !! Wailing and nashing of teeth follow. Then aggy has to empty the bank account to keep key players from following Schloss to UT. BTW, did I mention that with those very expensive players they failed to make the NCAA tournament in year one and then looked uninterested a few weeks ago, getting crushed by USC in a home regional. Now, they are really big mad and going to get us back, running the table with big money for Football NIL to be #1 and today getting Cain to come back to the Brazos bottom for a big raise. Boy did they stick it to Texas ! A wise man once said, the aggy's don't want to just beat Texas. They want to BE Texas! They have Texas Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and I don't think its going to get better soon! There is no cure! Thoughts?
  8. Not a big fan of UCF but really loved the flyover during the National Anthem!! What a celebration!
  9. Bobby, thank you for maintaining vigilance in keeping politics away from this board.
  10. There is only so much emotional and physical juice in the pitcher. When it takes a bunch of it to win a match in the semi's their is often very little left if you have a similar match. All but one of the singles matches were straight sets. Best chance to win the match was by winning #1 in straights. When it went to three it was just a matter of time in some ways. Up 3-1 the wheels came off. Nothing left in the pitcher .
  11. go ahead and send coach a text. Im sure he would appreciate the insight.
  12. Remembering the unforgettable quote from DKR after being upset by an underdog TCU team in 1961 with a national championship seemingly within reach.. "They (TCU) are like a cockroach. It isn't what he eats or totes off, but what he falls into and messes up," When somebody buys something really cheap they are the first to throw their trash out in the front yard when things don't go their way.
  13. 14 of the points and a large portion of the yards were in the 4th quarter with starters on the bench and subs on the field. However, point is well taken. Halftime adjustments worked well in the 3rd and early in the 4th before the score it 52-23.
  14. Credit where it is due! Defensive adjustments at halftime held Arkansas to 3 points in the 3rd period. At the 11 minute mark of the 4th Texas led 52-23. Game over, substitutes hit the field. Two meaningless scores inside 8 minutes . One with 7 plus and one at :16 seconds. Reason for mentioning it is the piling on about giving up 37 points as if the first unit didn't stop the pigs. Let's be accurate. Texas buried Arkansas in the second half and played most of the 4th with a litany of substitutes. Nice adjustment after the half.
  15. A coach who wins two conference championship over 15 years is not a great coach.
  16. Happy Birthday Gerry!! Mine as well!! 69th
  17. Although it's not likely , could Texas go big enough to hire Jay Wright if he wanted to come?
  18. Who could Texas hire who requires a top contract but doesn't require a buyout ?
  19. 1. Poor performance usually carries predictable results. 2. No, sometimes starting over is better served as soon as possible.
  20. Ok, they are a "better team". Rankings aside, much better teams never lose games like that to average teams. Texas is not even a bubble team.
  21. "much better"? Much better teams don't blow 22 point leads.
  22. What exactly does that mean? When fans hate winning what does that say they are?
