taxsaver Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Let's face it: the slightest Quinn stumble and Arch is our QB. Quinn has missed more time than Ehlinger who fans worried about because he was so physical. Football is a violent game. I think we'll see a lot of Arch one way or another. Whether its because of injury, or because of blowouts. Of course, we want to keep Arch healthy, too. And how do we know Arch isn't ALREADY better than Quinn? Maybe someone witnessing practice could tell us. Anyways it's the off season and we have 6 months to speculate! lol Quote
Hank Kingsley Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 (edited) I know people love Texas QB controversies (especially opposing fanbases) but IMO this is way less complicated than people think. Ewers is our clear cut QB1 this year. If he slightly stumbles, he is not going to his job (unless he's somehow costing us games). Arch will get much more PT as the backup (assuming we can start blowing out lesser competition). Quinn, for all his "faults", is the best option this year. The O-Line will continue to improve and do a better job at protection. He finds the open guys, and a 3rd year in this offense should really pay off. The timing is perfect. QE heads to the NFL and Arch starts in 2025 in our 2nd year in the SEC as a RS sophomore. Peyton played 4 years at Tennessee. Eli was at Ole Miss for 5 years. IMO there is a lot less drama here than anticipated. Edited February 9, 2024 by Hank Kingsley Quote
