watty7796 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 If Texas were to roll the pocket left or right allowing an extra half second would that be enough for the defense to declare and the QB enough time to read the d? Quote
Burnt Orange Horn Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Either pretty much cute the field in half. 1 Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted November 21, 2024 Moderators Posted November 21, 2024 Sark doesn't generally want to cut the field in half ... negates a lot of pre-snap eye candy and attempts to cause false steps/confusion 5 Quote
William Gillean Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I know Sark said he liked 12 personnel to address this 3 high defense issue but it didn't look great in practice. Any idea why the 6 OL package, which did work in the past, is off the table? Also, was Texas staff really surprised Arkansas ran it? Seemed reasonably likely they would in advance. Thanks. 1 Quote
JMarquette Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Sark said he doesn't want the 6 OL package because he finds value in having the extra receiving option on the field. Helm and Juan Davis block really well, so Sark didn't want to handicap pass plays. 1 Quote
