I feel like you can't. Obviously you don't want your qb to run all the time, but being able to extend a play, or go get yards when the play breaks down, that puts stress on a defense. Even Quinn showed it sporadically, when he was able to take off and run.

There is no guarantee. Cam Ward and Milroe didn’t even make a 12 team playoff. Milroe couldn’t beat OU. Sam as good as he was didn’t win anything of significance. Colt could run and his injury might have cost us a national championship.

Nope, sorry I really respect your takes Clint. I have to say in this instance you’re off. He didn’t have it. He was a miss even when he was healthy he was slow processing and made poor decisions. To me he’s a poor man’s Hudson Card. My hot take is that if we had stuck with Jerrod Heard we would’ve been better off as a program and not spiraled the way we did with all the crap QBs we dealt with until Sammy came along.

Love the stormtrooper look, but if Texas is considered the "home" team in neutral site games, they should wear their burnt orange jerseys. 2009 Fiesta Bowl comes to mind as a good memory of Texas beating Ohio State for me. Won the 1970 Cotton Bowl & the natty wearing our burnt orange! Same in 1963!

All good no apologies needed, I was in 1st-3rd grade when he was QB so I do not remember it like you do, I was just going based off the memory I had. Appreciate the respect and I wish Jerrod Heard would have panned out. Watching that Cal performance was something of magic. Peter Gardere was my QB in 1-3rd grade. Yeah J. Heard was a gamer and winner too bad we couldn’t utilize his athletic ability at QB more. Another hot take is that if we had stuck with the zone read offense in 2010 Garret Gilbert would’ve stayreyat Texas and won at least one conference championship and we might have had a shot to win a natty.

Thats whats up, and hey speaking of Gilbert 2010 was my first season watching Texas. I would go a different direction with Garrett Gilbert, I think if he never got thrown into the fire in pasadena he would have done better. That game I feel killed his confidence and watching what film is available from that season he had such a tendency to stare down his receivers bad. You were probably able to see things Im not able to with the limited film available from that year, But it was hard for me to find any flashes other than the second half of the championship game when he almost completed the comeback. Another thing to add, its a miracle what we were able to do on offense in the 2000's with Greg Davis as OC😂 Edited 8 hours ago by Clint Baros

Sure they look great and we have won in them, but I want to have memories and iconic plays in the playoffs with the Burnt Orange jerseys Love the storm trooper icy whites though.
