Moderators CJ Vogel Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Moderators Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM 2026 University Lab (La.) OT/DL Lamar Brown teased a trip to Austin Thursday evening on Twitter. Brown is considered a consensus five-star prospect and the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana. I mention both lines of scrimmage above because early on in Brown's recruitment, there was a mix of both sides early on in his recruitment. I would expect him to be an offensive lineman on the interior at the next level. I spoke with Brown around this time last year where he said he would have plenty of interest in visiting the Longhorns, but did not have anything in place to make the trip a reality. Since then, Brown has not visited Texas. But, LaAllen Clark did stop by University Lab this afternoon, a part of his recruiting territory, and thus the tweet was sent by Brown. Brown's Official Visits: May 30 – Miami June 6 – Florida State June 13 – Texas A&M June 20 – LSU 20 Quote

qaertyisthatdude Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM Would be an early Christmas present if Texas could somehow win this recruitment. Ojo, Turntine, and this guy? This is the type of recruiting in the trenches that can win you national titles. Still seven months to go, so who knows how this all plays out in the end. 3 Quote

But I agree, until he gets to campus, not much there to get hopes up for. 4 1 1 Quote

Seems like the pressure from Tiger fans (or the desire from recruits) to stay close to home for college is highest for recruits coming out of that particular High School. Just curious... thanks! 1 Quote

It’s literally on Southern University’s campus which is in Baton Rouge as well. 1 1 Quote

Need some Justus Terry like magic from this staff to pull this one out. Seems like an LSU lock. LSU's '26 HS class is looking nice rn. We'll see if Mr. Kelly can get them at least to the CFP or some of those guys will look elsewhere. 1 Quote

This is also a make or break year for Brian Kelly. If he fails to make a CFP .. again .. then I really wonder what type of job security he will have in Baton Rouge moving forward. 4 1 1 Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted yesterday at 03:18 PM Moderators Posted yesterday at 03:18 PM Clark will get Brown to Austin for a visit ... that BR connection with Clark will definitely help gets kids on campus in the future. Texas is working the only as a DL angle ... we shall see though 10 1 Quote

Positive note for the Longhorns. 4 1 Quote

To be fair they still have Keys, Mack, and Darby committed to them but still lol Quote

You can be sure that the hot seat chatter will really ramp up when LSU loses their first game. That won’t help their recruiting. 1 Quote

A few years, you could make a lot of money betting SMU could flip a kid from Louisiana from LSU, but nowadays, nothing is surprising. 1 Quote
