Dolphorn Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Coach White took some incoming flak for his pitching moves in Game 2. Turns out his decision to throw 4 different pitchers and rest Kavan (2/3 inning) was the reason Texas won the title. Canady is great but she got wore down and was not sharp. Kavan had her normal great stuff thanks to the decision White made for Game 2. Β Crow is being served.Β 14 Quote

Austalgia Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I was thinking this yesterday, the micro coaching was about the same, but the macro was won by White. Β Hindsight is 20/20, the only thing that might could have been done was put Morgan back in when the freshman got a base runner, but doesnβt matter now. Β Little cousin sent home crying.Β 1 Quote
Moderators Blake Munroe Posted June 7 Moderators Posted June 7 I think two things can be true: 1. You could go for the kill on Friday with TK and try to end it there.Β 2. You save TK for Saturday and end it there.Β Obviously it all worked out, so thatβs the most important thing! 8 Quote

horns96 Posted June 7 Posted June 7 My only complaint was that he got Kavan up on Thursday at all, but I'm with @Blake Munroe, it all worked out in the end and we came within a strike of run ruling them. Quote

Given those two options, Coach White made the right decision because of the Game 1 victory. He knew that if it went to Game 3 that his team would have a significant advantage with a rested Kavan and a worn out Canady. Had Texas lost the first game, the pitching rotation for a Game 2 would have been different. 1 Quote
