Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted February 29 Moderators Share Posted February 29 Four-star DL commit locks in Texas official visit Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie 4-star defensive tackle Brandon Brown has three official visits locked in, and one of them is to Texas. The Texas verbal and 6-2, 285 pound uber explosive defensive tackle told OnTexasFootball Wednesday night that he will make an official visit to Texas June 10-12. "My visit to Texas is June 10, we get there. And I think we leave on the 12th," Brown told OTF. Brown also remains scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Texas march 22 around a weekend 7v7 tournament in the Austin area. That visit to Texas will come on the heels of an official visit to Tennessee June 7-9. Brown will also make an official visit to USC June 21-23. The Sunshine State 4-star is also looking at official visits to Florida, Miami and possibly either Penn State or LSU. Brown committed to Texas December 19 over Tennessee, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma and USC. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, area recruiter Tashard Choice and Jeff Banks stopped by Eau Gallie High January 29 to talk with Brown. Brown put up monster stats as a junior for Eau Gallie High. He totaled 65 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and four stats. He enters his senior season with 155 tackles, 48 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks in 32 games over three years. khorn28
Any concern that the visit isn't the last weekend in June?

Texas as a mid-week ... is interesting. Texas didn't have a midweek June OV in the last cycle. Let's see if that date sticks.

If so, may be indicative of which school really has his ear right now.

He committed to Texas December 19. Bo Davis left. He won't meet Kenny Baker for the first time until late March. Would be a bad move for him to not continue on with the process right now.

Maybe I’m missing something but if Brown is that big of a priority then coach Baker shouldn’t be waiting almost two months to see him in person imo. Doesn’t send a good message to your only commit.

They've had the "dead" period in recruiting since early this month. Don't know for sure when it opens up again.

I thought it was in early March. My mistake.

Baker didn't get on the road until very late in January. When Sark, Choice and Banks went by, he wasn't on road yet or hadn't been released to (compliance when coaches are hired). March visits are next up for prospects.
