Alabama portal tight end Amari Niblack has made it official, he will be joining the Texas Longhorns for the 2024 season.
Niblack arrived for a visit in Austin early Thursday afternoon and it did not take long for the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder to join the boat and commit to Steve Sarkisian's Texas program.
During the 2023 season, Niblack caught 20 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns, including a 39-yarder against the Longhorns.
Sark continues the trend of adding explosive speed via the portal this offseason with Niblack as the most recent example. Replacing Ja'Tavion Sanders will be no easy task, but the Longhorns will now be working with two veteran pieces in Niblack and Gunnar Helm in 2024.

Texas is set to host over 100 top prospects this weekend for the first Junior Day of the calendar year. While there has been plenty of attention in the NCAA Transfer Portal, the Texas staff will begin making strides towards filling out the 2025 puzzle.
This list is imperfect and there will be plenty of prospects to arrive on campus that are not listed here, however the compilation of 100 prospects that we have compiled here at On Texas Football make this one of the most attended Junior Day events the Longhorns have had under Steve Sarkisian.
Last Update: Thursday at 11:00 p.m.
Sitting around 103 names on the list.

A tremendous accumulation of talent that is derived mostly from the state of Texas that ranges three cycles deep.
Of course, the largest focus will be on the 2025 cycle, however there are some five-star caliber prospects coming in from the 2026 class. OL John Turntine, WR London Smith and DL Kevin Ford Jr. are all highly touted prospects from next year's cycle who will be making the trip to the 40 Acres this weekend.
All in all, one of the deepest visitor lists I have seen in my time covering Texas recruiting.

Former Texas safety Kitan Crawford has found a new home. Moments ago the Tyler native committed to Nevada, which is where former Texas linebacker Jeff Choate recently became the team's new head coach.
Crawford was a special teams ace for the Longhorns.
Former Texas players who have found new homes this off-season include:
    QB Maalik Murphy - Duke
QB Charles Wright - Appalachian State
    WR Isaiah Neyor - Nebraska
    WR Casey Cain - UNLV
    DL Trill Carter - Auburn
    S Jerrin Thompson - Auburn
S BJ Allen - North Texas
    S Larry Turner-Gooden - San Jose State
DB X'avion Brice - North Texas
OL Sawyer Goram-Welch - Coastal Carolina

Earlier today, Gerry Hamilton of On3 placed a Recruiting Prediction for two key Longhorns prospects in the transfer portal.
Hamilton predicted that both Washington cornerback Jabbar Muhammad and Alabama tight end Amari Niblack would eventually sign with the Longhorns.
Muhammad completed his visit to Texas earlier today and is slated to see Alabama later this evening and tomorrow. Niblack is on the Texas campus. He arrived at 1:30pm this afternoon.

Sources close to Alabama transfer tight end tell On Texas Football that Alabama tight end Amari Niblack is a serious target for the Longhorns. Niblack visited with Texas tight ends coach Jeff Banks on Wednesday.
Texas is a considered a serious threat in Niblack's recruitment. The Longhorns have already lassoed two members of the Crimson Tide from the portal - wide receiver Isaiah Bond and linebacker Kendrick Blackshire.
Niblack recorded 20 catches for 327 yards and four TDs in 2023, including a 39-yard touchdown catch against the Longhorns. Niblack, who is 6-3.5 and 220 pounds, attended Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., and was ranked the No. 27 overall player in the country in the class of 2022 according to On3.
