Former Washington DB Jabbar Muhammad is in Eugene at the moment wrapping up his official to Oregon.
The Ducks, to me, are the favorite to land the former All-PAC 12 cornerback, despite the family ties Muhammad has to Texas.
A large reason for that is the snap share Muhammad would have with Oregon, and even Alabama for that matter. It is no secret Texas likes to rotate its defensive backs throughout games and the cornerback position is one that will have several capable bodies fighting for playing time in 2024.
Oregon is pitching an immediate starting role for Muhammad. With the former DFW native hoping to increase his draft grade with one final collegiate season, playing time is the highest priority on the list.
Immediate play time is biggest differentiator in this recruitment to me, and ultimately one that will decide where Muhammad will end up.

Getting some conflicting information on whether or not wide receiver Ryan Williams from Saraland, Ala., will still make his scheduled visit to Texas this weekend.
There is some thought that the five-star receiver is shutting down his recruitment. Whether that comes before or after his visit to Texas this weekend, I am unsure.
It will be something we are monitoring over the next 24-48 hours.

Bridgeland (Cypress) 2025 offensive tackle Jonte Newman just dropped his top 8 schools on Twitter. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder is ranked a four-star in the On3 Industry Rankings and the No. 343 player overall.

This past season he was a unanimous District 16-6A first-team selection.

While Texas looks for its new defensive line coach, Steve Sarkisian has elevated Texas' Director of Recruiting, Brandon Harris to the 10-man coaching staff to allow him to get on the road to recruit.
Harris was out in Louisiana Tuesday afternoon, checking in on a pair of powerhouses in the area.
First stop was at Westgate High School, home to 2025 CB Jaboree Antoine and former home of Texas S Derek Williams.
Soon thereafter, Harris made the trip to University Lab, home to 2025 LB Keylan Moses (LSU commit) and the No. 2 overall player in the 2026 class, OT Lamar Brown.
