  1. ssshhh. Don’t tell bama
  2. Speaking of Florida. yikes
  3. Yeah there’s no way sark goes to bama now. Not with the way Texas has been rebuilt and seeing how difficult it is for anyone to step in Sabans shadow. I think bama will have a tough time convincing any of the top 5-10 established coaches to go there. Urban Meyer maybe? I could see an nfl hire though.
  4. There was no doubt the bama finebaum callers would be out in full force after that fiasco on sat. Question is who would even be a realistic hire? Would they go back to Dabo? Smart? Can’t see either one of those guys wanting to leave. Gruden?
  5. No doubt. It was a great gameplan and it helps to have defensive quarterbacks on the field like styles and downs.
  6. Have to agree. Patricia is not a defensive god. He played what nfl teams play. Disguised coverages and bend between the 20s and hold in the red zone. Sark knows this well.
  7. Not Texas but still funny
  8. Osu may certainly have problems.. though I am not sold on our OL yet either. They protected reasonably well but there were some bad mental plays such as the last 4th down. Also we were running into a light box so how good is the running game when in the red zone the run game disappears. That 4th in goal was just terrible form on a qb sneak.
  9. I think had our punter not flipped the field the would have hade more offense. However they never generated a consistent running game against our d. Sayin was accurate but was never in any urgent state to make something happen. On the flip side smith dropped balls he will not the rest of the year. Had we punched the 4th in 1 in, the narrative on these 2 teams could be quite different.
  10. Yeah… Just saw this analysis cross posted to x. Really highlights the tremendous potential that he already has. He just needs more reps at this point.
  11. Not sure if this is posted elsewhere but this is a great analysis of arch’s decision making from chase daniel. There are a lot of promising things notes.. his pocket awareness. Looking safety’s off. NFL throws. I feel better about arch fixing the dumb things given what he has in the tool belt.
  12. Speaking of which https://x.com/pff_college/status/1962502196144345482?s=46
  13. https://x.com/pff_college/status/1962539717519704139?s=46 speaking of Littleton
  14. Honestly everyone was excited about the 3 borderline 5 stars ffrench, Lockett and terry last year as was I… but I had in the back of my mind would it be better to have a dk Moore and 2 jags than the 3 guys we got. Isn’t often you get a Jeremiah smith or Ryan Williams type and so is it wise to overpay for the elite talent even if it costs you options 2 through 10 on your big board.
  15. Not quite 30 but a lot of rotation for such a big game on the road. surprised how little Spence played. Would have wanted to see more vasek as well
  16. Accurate description of his day. Here’s the video of each of these throws
  17. Unless arch was hurt then all of the mechanical things fall on arch not milwee or sark. Kid has all the resources in the world with 3 hof level qbs in the family, David Morris as a qb coach and Sark who has mentored many great qbs as well. I think he’ll look at the tape and be disappointed with himself. Expect a large improvement in mechanics by UF.
  18. Well you would then need to do the same with Saban and Pitino. Meyer is an elite college coach. Slimy yes but one of the few coaches that you would expect success whoever you plug him in.
  19. Didn't mean any disrespect.. I actually completely agree with your categorization coaches.. very well thought out. I'm just saying we as fans jump to labelling coaches and players at that time, when things change. Sark is on a rapid trajectory now, making it that much more difficult. If you asked the same question 2 years ago after 5-7.. what would people say? Is he not the same dude 2 years later with a playoff team in 2 straight years? I'm not sold that he is the next savior either, but he's not a finished product. Let's look at your 3rd category from a football standpoint, which could be broken down to more subcategories. Patterson, Gundy, Peterson (long time well regarded smart coaches that have maximized non-blue blood powers.. never had chance to coach at the highest levels with the best talent).. what would happen if they went to an LSU or Bama like a Nick Saban? Could drastically change how you perceive them. Strong - bust at Texas, bust at USF (basically the same category as Tom Herman, probably the only one that doesn't belong in the same caliber of coach with the other guys really) Riley - born on 3rd base, QB scheme savant, not a great coach at 2 blue bloods Leach - offensive scheme savant, had a maximal ceiling as a HC given results at Tech and MSU Kelly, Beamer - Solid coaches, Beamer never got over the hump while VT was relevant, Kelly hasn't yet at 2 historic programs either.. we'll see if he can eventually get enough talent ala Mack Brown Kiffin - like Sark in age and ability to win in the SEC, but without the trajectory.
  20. agreed.. it was like sark realized that patricia was keeping everyone back and with arch's accuracy issues he just kept things very simple and tried to take advantage of the numbers game with runs. not sure i disagree with the overall idea of the plan.. i just didn't like the lack of creativity. WR screen could have been used in the 1st half to get arch going. same with an exotic reverse. arch bears some resonsibility with some of his decisions to be fair.. some of the RPOs like the first 4th down.. he should have pulled and hit a wide open TE.
  21. ehh. don't over think it. the guys you have listed in the higher categories have mostly completed or completed careers. sark is still young, and has shown trajectory up. to me he's in the "great trajectory just show me a championship" category.. around a marcus freeman and maybe a bit higher than james franklin (given how slow his trajectory has been). mack was james franklin before he got the pieces he needed to win a championship. jimmy johnson inherited a great miami program ala ryan day. pete carroll and meyer had ridiculous trajectories out of the gate.. probably more so than saban himself.
  22. Wanted to get some opinions. I thought we were pretty vanilla with the pass rush. Yes we got pressure with the NASCAR package but you don’t get a whole lot of 3rd and longs against a team like Ohio State. Simmons didn’t seem like he was a factor as a 3 down edge. Maybe the osu OL is a lot better than we thought but just shocked how few one on one edge wins there were. Didn’t even notice Spence in the game. 1 tackle? the question is how much of that is scheme? I felt that ultimately that was the plan from PK not to get gouged by the run game and keep everyone back after bracketing Smith. You can only do so much when you have to account for 1 guy. How many times will we need to do the same this year? Spy for Lagway and Reed maybe? I am cautiously optimistic we’ll see good sack numbers this year, but the break the record Simmons sack totals are as crazy as arch for Heisman second question is about the OL. Same can be said about the osu gameplan. Like the lack of sacks on arch… he was certainly pressured but I think some teams will throw blitzes that he hasn’t seen and it may still be a big problem. Just look at how Baker played the last snap of the game. It was ugly. I don’t want to be overly optimistic about the OL at this point. Also still need to prove that we can run inside consistently. Will be interesting to see the Neto versus Stroy grades out of this game.
  23. I remember when he was warming up he seemed to wince a little after a throw. I didn’t try to over think it but it would explain some of his clunky throws.
