  1. I think when you sign up with an agent like sexton that controls the market of big name coaches you know he will use the leverage he has for his collective of coaches and what’s good for one guy is good for the collective in that situation. Agree if this is really the angle that it hurts sark in the short term but it will help long term. Doesn’t sark have a rider in his contract that keeps him within the top X of coaching salaries? I might be mistaken.
  2. So what are the possibilities? 1) he is tired of the college crap with nil and donors and recruiting, etc. and just wants to pursue his NFL dreams now.. 2) he has little leverage in getting more money in a crazy coaching musical chairs season, given a subpar performance, and this gives him a little leverage. oh and perhaps 3) jimmy sexton is adding texas as a possible biggests coaching opening, making all other schools pony up even bigger to get their jimmy sexton guys.
  3. If that’s what they are going for, no wonder we can’t score points in the game
  4. Definitely. I’m not sure if it is a big human or not thing as much as a fit within the scheme and culture problem. Brooks is massive and could be a great player for us. Agree Turntine is the gem of the OL class this year but if we had gotten a Cantwell, a massive human, I don’t think it would be a mistake.
  5. Wow. 😳 https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46695228/sources-terry-rozier-arrested-part-gambling-inquiry also heat guard rozier involved
  6. ND gonna make the playoffs losing to 2 teams with a pulse and beating nobody of real relevance
  7. Looks like Sean Miller is working towards this kind of lineup too haha
  8. Looking forward to seeing if KD can help the Rockets get back to the Finals. Good article about him… interesting there are so many longhorn connections on this team! https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46662509/kevin-durant-pursuit-perfection-led-texas-houston-rockets Durant's comfort and familiarity extend beyond the ties with Udoka, who enters his third season at the helm in Houston. University of Texas teammate and close friend Dexter Pittman works on the Rockets' staff as an intern, and former Longhorn teammate D.J. Augustin holds a role in the front office. Durant's close friend Royal Ivey, who also played at Texas and was Durant's teammate on the Thunder, is a Rockets assistant.
  9. You going in the paint with Cam Williams standing there? No thanks
  10. Gerry I’m not saying we don’t have talent in most places. There’s talent everywhere on the team though OL has its talent deficiencies this year. Clearly not every great coach hits on every recruit. It’s the job of the staff to realize that on the offensive line we have done a great job developing an underrecruited LT, have a young talented RT who needs reps, have a senior RG who should be dependable, but have concerns at LG where out biggest recruit has not panned out and we are relying on either a project with good strength but bad feet or a freshman who has only played tackle…. And a center that is completely new to the position that has been okay at guard only before. At RB we have 2 out of our top 3 guys coming back from major injuries and the third guy not an every down back. I’m not one to call for coaching changes at all as a knee jerk. i just think the staff played down possible problems that could have been addressed prior to this year. I hope they will address this better in what should be a wild portal year
  11. Frankly I don’t care which person ends up at which school. I care about who’s in the portal as a result, if our coaches can rectify the lack of clear talent / experience / depth on offense that should have been addressed last year, and if we can outgun the ones now willing to spend like crazy to get those guys.
  12. Will be annoying to see that twit manziel on our sidelines pulling for pavia
  13. I’m with you on this. Most impressive athlete in relation to his peers I’ve ever seen. I can’t think of many others this far ahead in their sport. Bill Russell? Usain Bolt? Tiger?
  14. Glad Derek cooper got to see this mess

  16. Might be the best ambassador to Texas in the nfl for years to come
  17. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46586838/bijan-robinson-atlanta-falcons-mnf-week-6-win-buffalo-bills-monday-night-football Is Robinson the leading contender for NFL Offensive Player of the Year? What Robinson has done early this season is remarkable. The third-year running back has more yards from scrimmage through five games than any other player in Falcons history. His 138 rushing yards at the half were the most by any player in the league after two quarters this season. Robinson came into the game leading the league with 146 yards from scrimmage per game -- and then put up 238 on Monday night, the second-highest total in the league this season. Robinson is the second player to reach 450 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards through his first five games of a season in NFL history, joining Thurman Thomas in 1991, according to ESPN Research.
  18. Thoughts and prayers to the Murphy family with their premature baby.
  19. Good points.i should have been more clear. I’m talking about elite of the elite. That’s like saying hey we got ffrench and terry who are 5 stars but dkm is the clear difference maker. A 5 star plus perhaps in Gerry terms. Love Philips but not sure he’s got the ceiling of Devin Sanchez. Maybe he will have a superior career who knows. Littleton has been a revelation but most people would not have had him as a top 10 recruit in our class and he maybe one of the top 10 freshmen performers in the nation… kudos to the staff for getting him. In this age of nil recruiting you have to go big on a few big time guys like a Tyler Atkinson and a Derek Cooper and not settle on a half notch below. Meredith could be the number 1 corner in the country. Would be a big loss.
  20. He’s been leaning to aggy for a while. So is the rb Landon Willis Callis. Sucks because we need an elite lockdown corner and we’ve missed on quite a few big ones in Texas over the last decade including last year
