  1. ehh. don't over think it. the guys you have listed in the higher categories have mostly completed or completed careers. sark is still young, and has shown trajectory up. to me he's in the "great trajectory just show me a championship" category.. around a marcus freeman and maybe a bit higher than james franklin (given how slow his trajectory has been). mack was james franklin before he got the pieces he needed to win a championship. jimmy johnson inherited a great miami program ala ryan day. pete carroll and meyer had ridiculous trajectories out of the gate.. probably more so than saban himself.
  2. Wanted to get some opinions. I thought we were pretty vanilla with the pass rush. Yes we got pressure with the NASCAR package but you don’t get a whole lot of 3rd and longs against a team like Ohio State. Simmons didn’t seem like he was a factor as a 3 down edge. Maybe the osu OL is a lot better than we thought but just shocked how few one on one edge wins there were. Didn’t even notice Spence in the game. 1 tackle? the question is how much of that is scheme? I felt that ultimately that was the plan from PK not to get gouged by the run game and keep everyone back after bracketing Smith. You can only do so much when you have to account for 1 guy. How many times will we need to do the same this year? Spy for Lagway and Reed maybe? I am cautiously optimistic we’ll see good sack numbers this year, but the break the record Simmons sack totals are as crazy as arch for Heisman second question is about the OL. Same can be said about the osu gameplan. Like the lack of sacks on arch… he was certainly pressured but I think some teams will throw blitzes that he hasn’t seen and it may still be a big problem. Just look at how Baker played the last snap of the game. It was ugly. I don’t want to be overly optimistic about the OL at this point. Also still need to prove that we can run inside consistently. Will be interesting to see the Neto versus Stroy grades out of this game.
  3. I remember when he was warming up he seemed to wince a little after a throw. I didn’t try to over think it but it would explain some of his clunky throws.
  4. As i said in the game thread… too many poor side arm flicks without feet set. Look at this throw (ignore the fact that endries would have walked in for a td)
  5. Running game was more than competent. A big improvement from the last game. Baxter looked healthy. Punter is nails.
  6. I’ll have to go back and look at the throws again but arch’s quick twitch flick throws were frequently off the mark. I can understand him using them in pressure situations but many seemed nonchalant without any pressure in the face. Seems totally unnecessary
  7. Congrats to osu. Hate their fans but they got some players. Sayin was composed and did just enough. Their d is legit again
  8. Every drive is like cool we got the offense on the field. 10 seconds later. 3rd and 9
  9. Honestly sayin looks pretty good as a first time starter. Need to keep putting him is obvious throwing downs
  10. Sark feeling things out. Like the ability to run a little.. we aren’t getting a ton of yards today but it is functional. Pass pro is good. Osu has done well covering up our receivers. D looked good on 3 plays but got super lucky on the 4th down.
  11. I think a lot of this game hinges on whether we can get a north south run game with Baxter. We didn’t have that in the cotton bowl and it hurt us. Hope Baxter still has the one cut and go ability. Moving the ball 4 to 5 yards on first down makes this offense deadly. Ohio state is thinking of the same thing with Peoples.
  12. Well there it is. Thanks for guaranteeing the win Blake!

  14. Not a totally fair comparison of talent when you consider guys like taaffe, tre moore, tre wisner, jack endries and brad spence are not blue chip recruits on this list. We should be top 2 at worst
