So I have compiled a list of commits/targets and existing players ranked by their high school ranking. I did this to put into context what it means to sign a Ryan Wingo or lose a Michael Fasusi. If we sign a Javion Hilson, what does that mean in comparison to other player we have signed? I did this using the 247 composite rankings. Originally I was curious who the top 22 players were in the program. Then I wanted to see all the players ranked in the national top 70 (Ryan Niblet and above). Then Ended up ranking every with a .9000 and above rating.  The talent has really improved over the years. Only 4 Seniors on the list (Quinn Ewers, Alfred Collins, Vernon Broughton, & Jake Majors).  Juniors? Only 8 out of 63 players.  The future of the team is really bright. We probably should be a little more excited about the future of Kobe Black.

The main question is does Florida have the $28.2M buyout if they fire Napier.

Earlier it was reported they did not.  They need to wait until December to fire him.  How do they expect to get a competent coach if they are that broke?

  3. Bad Texas football days for me began with losing to Arkansas by a point on a failed 2 point conversion in Memorial stadium in 1964. Still the Orange Bowl victory over Alabama was some salve as it elevated Arkansas to their only natty in football.

1966 and 1967 were tough with losses to USC.  Then 1968 started poorly with a tie with Houston anda loss to TTU. But a guy named James Street took over at QB in the TTU game and almost won it.  He started the next 20 games and won them all.

Wondering if a very few boosters have an oustsized influence on the athletic department in Lubbock.  Seems like they might not be navigating the NIL era as well as some thought.

I slept through a 1/3 of the their game last night, but Morton looked bad during the time I was awake.

    TTU boosters constantly meddle.

Better beat Tulane this week … they should, but I have to say it based on the putrid showing against a bad UH team Saturday …

    Ranked opponents:

    #7 Tennessee
    #2 Texas
    @ #5 Ole Miss
    @ #6 Mizzou
    #4 Bama
    @ #16 LSU

    Unranked opponents:

    @ Auburn

    South Carolina

That’s one hell of a tough scheduled if the OL doesn’t make big strides and Arnold doesn’t take big steps (as long as he is the guy).

Those are my six losses for OU.
